24 year old, Lip Lift

I had been wanting a lip lift for a couple of years. I always felt that my lips dragged my features downward and made me look more mature than my actual age. After so many positive reviews and amazing before and after results I was very confident that I wanted Dr. Gary Horndeski to perform this procedure. I wanted a shorter distance between my lips/nose and I wasn’t too specific about much other than that. Dr. Horndeski suggested a lift for my corners and I hadn’t noticed it much before but I trusted him and I’m so glad I did! That corner lift did some sort of magic! I just feel “cute” now and I actually notice random people smiling at me more! I didn’t realize it before, but because my corners were downward and heavier it was harder for me to emote myself …like I’d have to go the extra mile to smile deliberately for people to notice that I was pleasant or happy, but now my expression is effortless. This is really something that I wanted to share because I’m not sure too many people consider this and personally it never really crossed my mind. I’ve gotten more compliments than ever before, not because I’m necessarily more attractive (I was just as attractive before) but I know the big difference is simply that I look more approachable. It’s as if, before my personality was camouflaged. I also love the fact that I feel more comfortable with less makeup on, or on the other hand, trying lip products that I didn’t find flattering before like lip glosses and bright shades. I love experimenting with my look now, and yet I’m more comfortable with my naked lips as well. I’ve got the best of both worlds now :D
Surgery was very scary simply because I’d never been under the knife or done anything cosmetic, but everyone made me feel very comfortable. Side note: If you’re considering Dr.Horndeski, just know that you’re really walking into an environment that is professional but also very warm and down to earth. Nurse Eliza is one of the sweetest women ever. If your anything like me, new to cosmetic surgery and terrified, no need to get in your own way. Personal improvements should always be the exciting experience that its meant to be. I firmly believe your body is in direct connection and reaction to the heart, so if you know what you want, let yourself be happy and your body will certainly take care of you.
Dr. Horndeski started by doing an analysis, finding out what type of results I wanted to achieve, and then taking measurements. My lips were slightly uneven before so one side was lifted an extra mm or so to balance my smile. Before the surgury I was injected with a numbing/stiffening agent. Keep in mind this solution hardens and expands the area you want lifted so after the surgery you won’t quite see immediate results. For me it took a few days for the swelling to go down enough to get an idea of the results and about another week for that stiff solution to dissolve, and as it did I personally experienced some cheek bloating and plump lips as the solution slides down in the face a bit ( but I kind of liked the plump lip effect).
I’m almost 2 months healed. I wish I could show off my smile here but for the sake of anonymity , i'm only showing very basic open mouth photos of before and after 3 weeks post op. *And there are many of Dr. Horndeski’s lip lift patients who offer before and after photos that are very comparable to my own. So one of the reasons I chose Dr. Hordeski is because I love his incision technique, compared to the majority of other surgeons who seem to use a general impersonal template for every patient ( and that ugly scar it leaves around the patients nose area is just unfortunate). Dr. Hondeski, made my incision on the natural contours of my nose creases. The healing process has been smooth. It’s pink where the incision was, but its nothing a few dabs of concealer can’t handle. For personal care, I keep a healthy diet I have a regime of taking Vitamin E, C, and natural Enzyme supplement called Serrapeptase (supposed to naturally dissolve internal scar tissue!) I also rub a little bio oil on the area after I wash my face. I’m currently looking into a fading cream for the redness. But all in all I’m healing like a champ.
I feel so much more comfortable with the surgery process now… And I don’t feel different; I feel more like myself now than ever before. My boyfriend says that even though I was perfect before and he didn’t see the point in this surgery other than what it meant to me, he admits he sees the difference. He likes seeing my teeth when I speak and smile, and he thinks its cute :D :D I’m really looking forward to going back to get a little more reduction in the cupids bow area. I feel like I’m holding my breath a bit until my full results are achieved, but I’m even more excited than I was before! I had always wanted rhinoplasty as well, but now that I see how much more balanced the proportions of my face are after the lift, I don’t think my nose stands out the way it did before. It’s like my face is fitting together now. But who knows what the future will bring because it’s seriously magic what a few millimeters here and there can do. I consider myself a devoted patient to Dr.Horndeski. He’s the man.
