"46 Year Old Mother of 4 Children and YaYa to 2 Grandchildren" - Sugar Land, TX
Very disappointed with my results. Myself as a...
I do like Dr. Ravi, but he as a surgeon I might have to question and I definitely question his morals towards his patients. After paying $5,000 for breast augmentation he had stated that I may need a lift too but he did not want to do it during surgery he wanted to wait until all the swelling went down to make sure and he was not going to charge us for it. Told both me and my husband. This so called FREE surgery was going to actually cost $3,000 supposedly for the hospital fee. I was not going to pay that at all FREE is FREE!! We did settle on $1,500 cost he was going to split the cost with us. He said when you are ready let me know and we will schedule the surgery. I called him a couple weeks ago to go see him and to set up surgery date and reminded him of the $1,500 agreement. He would not talk pricing with me, his new assistant said she would call me. She didn't get back to me for a week later and told me that to just fix the right side it was going to cost $2,400 to keep the price down. I almost fainted. Originally it was FREE, then $3,000 to $1,500 now $2,400 to fix just one side and leave the left side alone. SERIOUSLY!!! I told the new assistant what our prior arrangement was and she literally said to me, "I don't know what you discussed before or what prices were quoted before but we are doing different this now that I am here!!" Well that's good, I guess but I still have a major problem with both breasts and me as a doctor would not let a patient walk around looking the way I do right now, this is free advertisement. The new assistant is rude and very cold and doesn't let you talk, I really didn't have any issues with Dr. Ravi until she came aboard. So now I have to walk around with really uneven breasts, one under my armpit and looks like it is up near my collar bone while the other one looks OK, just needs a lift. I am just so disappointed, now I have to go find another surgeon and explain all of this and tell them who did it and have the whole surgery all over again.

Perhaps, if you did this, the doctor would see that you are being sincere in your efforts to work it out, and then he would be able to work with you, and you would not have to go and find another PS, which could prove to be difficult if you need a revision to your first surgery.
I am not saying you do not have an issue; But I am giving you a suggestion of an alternate way to handle it which might be more beneficial to you in the end.
I am sorry that you are having this problem with your doctor. It does sound like there are/were some discrepancies / miscommunications along the way with your surgical costs, which is unfortunate. It is always best if a doctor gives you a quote in writing, which is what most patients get. So, if he was not going to charge you for a lift, then he should have quoted that cost as zero. Unfortunately, it doesn't matter what was said, what matters is what you can prove. And it is terrible, but you will never get anywhere with a he said/she said.
If you do go for a revision, then be sure to pick a doctor who will give you a quote in writing with a description of the services he is to perform, along with facility (hospital or clinic) fees, and anesthesia fees. This is the way a professional plastic surgeon would/should do business.
What I also gather from reading your post is that you wanted a lift from the very beginning. I am sorry that you were not in complete agreement with your physician on what procedures you wanted done before your surgery.
If this happens again, you are free to get another opinion from a surgeon with the same credentials. It is always best to get at least 2 or 3 opinions.
I hope that you will have a clear communication with your next surgeon and that the two of you (as well as your husband ) will be in complete agreement over the surgery. I don't care how many consults that takes. You are the patient, and you are paying for the surgery. You should get what you want, and know what you are getting.
I would like to see your pictures, if you are planning on posting them.
I am sorry that you did not get the result that you wanted, and that it is going to cost you more time and money.
Take care

Best wishes

I don't see any before pics, so it's hard for me to say if this is an improvement or not. Plus, I am not sure what challenges he was faced with because the starting shape always influences your outcome. It's not like starting with a blank slate.
From what I see, your breasts do not look all that bad from the frontal view. Your nipples are not that low. But, on the side view, your breast does look a bit flat. I don't know what type and size implant you chose, but I think you needed high profile, and a bigger size to fill up your loose skin. It doesn't look like that is what you have. If you go back for a revision with a lift, then talk to your PS about the style and size of your implant to be sure you achieve the look you want. Bring in some pictures. It is easier for your doctor to get you where you want to go if he can begin with a visual of the end in mind.
Your breasts don't look terrible, but there is room for improvement, and I do understand your disappointment.
Better luck to you in the next go round; I truly hope you get the result that you want !!
Good luck!
