Subcision with Bellafill Acne Scars

It's been about 24 hours after I had my procedure. The swelling and bruising has been very minimal. I was expecting to look like I had been stepped on. It still feels tender/bruised a little. So far I'm pleased with the whole experience. I noticed that some of the deeper scars are not flush, but that may take time and another visit in 6 months.

I have been researching treatments for my acne scars for awhile. In the last year I have had 3 Erbium lasers treatments with a dermatologist, with no real change. I thought maybe subcision with filler would show the most improvement. Through Realself and studying on the internet, I found Dr. John Burns of Dallas Plastic Surgery Institute. His practice had more options to choose from. Their website has an online consultation to ask questions. I live over 2 hours away and didn't want to make a trip for nothing. I told him what kind and where my scars were. I asked options for my case, the procedures, cost, downtime. He responded very quickly to several consultation emails I sent. I made an appointment for in person consultation and procedure for my next vacation. I filled my paperwork out at home. I got to his office early, and maybe sat 5 min in the waiting room before I was called back. Nurse came in and asked a few questions, Dr. Burns came in and we discussed what should be done. I went and had my before pics taken then back to room. He marked my scars then used a local to numb me. I think that was the worst part, since my scars are on my nose and chin. The local numb shots worked within minutes. He done the subcision the I had 2 syringes of Bellafill. None of that was painful. I had some pinpoint bleeding, but it had stopped before I left. He put some ointment on my nose and chin and gave me an ice pack. He told me I may need to come back in about 6 months for more as he didn't want to over due it. I would have some swelling and bruising for a few days and in 6 months should be able to tell if I need a little more.
I was very pleased at the intial email consultation and how quickly he responded to all my questions.The girls in his office are very nice and helpful. I was there less than an hour and left not looking too rough. I was swelling and red with ointment, but still was able to stop for sit down lunch. It's been about 6 hours now and my nose and chin are showing bruising and feel bruised. Swelling isn't too bad. I'm hoping for at least 50% improvement with this treatment, we'll see if I need more.I highly recommend Dr. John Burns for any cosmetic needs.
