Lip Lift in Florida - Love It!

WORTH IT$3,700
I had been looking around at lip lifts for about a year. Right after my 63rd birthday, I had enough of looking old with my too-long philtrum. It bothered me that I could not see my top teeth anymore. I Googled “lift lip Florida” and found out about Dr. Jean-Paul Azzi in Palm City, Florida, near Stuart (he also practices in Jupiter). I looked at a few pictures of lip lifts on his website and was impressed, and sent an email to him with pictures requesting information. He called me the next day and agreed that I was an excellent candidate for this procedure. We chatted and he was very pleasant, informative and understanding (I was worried he wouldn’t take off enough mm, but he wanted to almost take off too much!, I worried). Lip lifts seem to be a specialty of his and the price of the procedure was high. He ensured it would be worth it. I liked that he wanted to take quite a lot off--he was talking 11 mm! Other surgeons were much more conservative, which is a waste of money in my opinion. On 2/15/18 I made the appointment to get it done. I did this procedure when I wasn’t working and it was a perfect time to do it.
I was scheduled for the procedure 2/23/18. After I talked to him on 2/15, Dr. Azzi wanted me to stop drinking, and no taking aspirin, Excedrin, my hormones, or vitamin pills—except for vitamin C, for a week. He had me take 1000 mg a day of C and also Arnica Montana to prevent bruising. I ordered it online and followed directions—I took 4 pills which dissolved under my tongue, 4 times a day.
On 2/23, I drove three hours to get to Palm City to get the procedure done. I did not have to wait long before going in. Dr. Azzi is a super nice guy and very confident about his skills. This made me feel comfortable and he explained what he was going to do. We agreed how much he was going to take out (8 mm) and I expressed some worries and he calmed me down. When he started the procedure, he numbed me up so much I didn’t feel anything. No pain! He was completely focused. I was there about an hour and it was done. My lip/nose area looked like a mess (which is why I was glad I wasn't working). He makes teeny tiny sutures—which is a good thing! but also they show a lot. I was able to drive the three-hour drive home and was there in time for dinner. I had some pain that night and took Tylenol. The next day I was fine.
My nose, lips and under my nose were swollen for days because Dr. Azzi put 15 cc of numbing medicine in there, and it took some time for that to go down. I had very little bruising, perhaps because of the Arnica Montana, which I never heard of before. I basically stayed inside for a week until it was time for my sutures to be removed. The only bad part about the procedure was Dr. Azzi thought I could get my sutures removed at my doctor’s or at an urgent care clinic, but I dislike my doctor (!) and was sent away when I went to an urgent care clinic. Ridiculous. So after getting rejected there, I drove back to Dr. Azzi’s and he took them out. In the long run, I’m glad I went back over there so he could see the results and he would be his meticulous self taking the sutures out. Once the sutures were out, Dr. Azzi said I could put makeup on it, told me stay out of the sun, use sunscreen, and wear a hat when I could. He also wrote me a prescription for Retin-A because I asked him what I could use to make my face (skin) look better.
As soon as the sutures were taken out, and I put makeup under my nose, I looked almost normal (but better!) only ONE WEEK after the procedure--and it is getting better every day. I barely see a scar and my husband says he cannot see a scar. I’m not wearing makeup in the last two pictures and hopefully you can see the difference of my lip and having a shorter philtrum. I think it looks great and am so happy I had this done! Now if only Dr. Azzi could make my hair thicker...

Wow what a difference! It took years off your already pretty face. You must be so thrilled. I'm getting my lip lift on 4/19 and would so thrilled with similar results :-)

Thanks! Make sure the dr isn't "conservative" - normally to make a difference you need at least 8 mm off, but I'm sure that depends. But if your dr just takes off a little bit, it will look the same in a year.

I love love the tooth show you achieved! I really want to do this procedure but really dismayed I will have to do it twice if a doctor, like most, only agree to take off 5 or6 mm. I am doing this to achieve an extreme look like all the Victoria secret models. Most are very short nose to mouth ratio as well as youthful Bridgette bardot. I also do not have the guts to cut myself under nose twice...eek. So I really appreciate your sharing! Looking good!

You look great!
I’ve been searching for a surgeon with good reviews. He’s out of my way but hopefully will be worth the trip.
May 15, 2018
Thanks! Yes, I drove three hours to go there. Worth it.

Can you send me his contact info
I can’t find him on Resl Self search

His number is (561) 429-5403
May 15, 2018
Ty very much!!
May 15, 2018
All I can say is WOW! You were already very pretty but this has made you look like a YOUNG woman! How long was your philtrum before? I’m in California and am scheduled for a consult wit Dr. Talei in late June. I’m excited but very nervous that I could get big overblown blowfish lips. Your lips look amazing. Love them!
May 15, 2018
Thank you! I don't know how long it was, you can see it was very long though in the pictures. I doubt you will get blowfish lips. It looks like that at first, but it goes down almost back to a normal lip, just less space in between. I hope you'll be pleased. I'm very happy with my results and have been told there's no way I look 63--more like 40's! Yay!
May 15, 2018
I’m 63 too! And you definitely look like you are in your 30’s! So gorgeous. Thank you for sharing!! May I contact you personally when I get closer to my journey? I know I will have a kazillion questions. Your results have pretty much helped me make up my mind to do this!
May 15, 2018
Yes, please do. It is not that scary. Make sure your doctor is a pro and you'll be fine.
May 15, 2018
From my research and viewing his before and afters, Dr. Talei in BH, definitely has the ability and aesthetics to do a great job. He does them all the time, just about everyday. And he is very pricey too. But you get what you pay for.
May 15, 2018
And one more question.
May 15, 2018
Hmm. It cut off my question. Do you plan on updating with photos as time goes on?
May 15, 2018
Yes, I will soon.

Update on lip lift in 2018- Florida

aluicious
I had my lip lift done in Feb 2018. I'm sending updated photos so you can see me currently. (Notice, same scraggly hair. ) I have not had any lip lift revisions. I have kept my lips supple with filler and had some done February 2022. I get a very natural look. Recently I wrote to my plastic surgeon, Dr. Azzi (best surgeon ever), that I thought my philtrim was too long again. I sent photos and he said he thought my lips look great but he would do a revision if I wanted. I think instead I am going to ask him for a neck lift or deep plane facelift, even though for some reason my neck looks ok here. The bands are showing and make me look old, and we all know I am not old! I am going to talk to Dr. Azzi virtually very soon and will keep you posted. But what do you gals think? Facelift? Lip lift? Hair extensions, ha? Be nice!

I think you look lovely. I would start with having your hair cut shorter with layers to give it more body and make it look thicker. Thick hair youthfulness! It may also help to gove your face the appearance of a lift as long hair seems to drag a face down.

I love your honesty and had a chuckle at what you wrote-:)
I think you look great!!
I understand when you ask…if you should do more surgeries.
It’s so hard to know.

If it’s any consolation, I’m looking at getting my nose done…and re:vision to lower blepharoplasty I had done years ago!!

I wish you all the very best!! If you get more surgeries
May 12, 2022
My suggestion. If you can do it, do it. Research surgeons and do it. Don't go years "wishing" you did it. Good luck.
May 12, 2022
Hi!
Your candor is refreshing.
I would not cut your hair. I truly believe that longer hair turns back the clock.
I think you’re lips are lovely. I can see however that perhaps your phitrum has lengthened just a bit. I wonder if you could measure it? Mine was 17mm. And I got 5.5mm removed. It’s made so much of a change. Perhaps just getting an additional 2-3mm *if* you’re contemplating another surgery would be worth it. But that’s only if you’re already having another procedure…

Agree. I just got my long hair highlighted and it looks great. I like looking like a hippie chick! I'm getting a facelift from Dr. Azzi in July and he said we could take off a few mm of the lip while I get it. It doesn't look too bad in the photos but I like to get things nipped in the bud before it gets too awful. My neck/face ages me. I want to look 20 years younger than I am.
May 16, 2022
I got a lip lift/ corner lip lift with Dr. Mascaro a couple of weeks ago. I went from 24mm to 15mm. . He could have taken off more but we agreed that amount was just enough for my face. .
September 3, 2022
I agree about her hair. I think her cut is very youthful and I'ld leave it be. Are you a hair dresser.
May 16, 2022
Prp for hair works to grow thicker hair! You look great how long after could you move your lip properly ?
June 1, 2022
Have you had PRP for your hair ? I am thinking of doing it .. Thanks !
June 2, 2022
Yes Iv had 3 goes now and it’s worked a treat I mean so good I feel like cutting my thin grown hair off it’s that think at the roots !
May 22, 2022
WOW, your fresh post op photo looks like it hurt but your results are great, so pretty. And 4 years later you are still looking beautiful !
May 23, 2022
Thanks! When I had this done, it did not hurt. I was awake! My lips puffed up from the numbing stuff, I think. The puffiness went away in about seven days. Also you could barely see the suture marks. He made a really nice bow that my lips lacked.

Deep plane facelift and lip lift without anesthesia in Florida - Love it!

aluicious
Today is one month after my facelift and lip lift with Dr. Azzi. He did my lip lift in 2017 (reviewed here) and I recently went to him to get a facelift and lip lift (July 18, 2022). I wanted to just fix my wrinkly neck but he said the best results would be from a facelift/necklift. He did a small lip lift, about 4 mm off. I guess it's ok. He wanted to do more, I thought it would be too much. Now I think he was right, dang it. My big complaint was the bands on my neck. Please get rid of those ugly bands!
He did. This was an easy procedure. Why? Because Dr. Azzi did not use anesthesia. I went in, took some valium, and mostly slept through it all while they played airy-fairy music. Before the surgery I took Vitamin C and Arnica Montana 30x Tablets two week before and stopped taking aspirin, hormones, etc. There were stitches behind my ears, in front of the ears, behind my neck, and under my chin. He does the best, tiniest stitches ever and now I don't see scars at all. I had a lot of bruising and that all went away after about nine days.
Dr. Azzi and his staff were, once again, the best. I saw him in Jupiter this time. (I refrained from asking him if he would marry me. That would be wrong.)
Here are some before pictures and after pictures. This time, instead of giving me your honest opinion like last time (which hurt, by the way), just tell me I look like a million bucks.

You look a million $$! Your neck, face and lips look amazing. You have beautiful skin. Would you mind sharing the cost of your surgery?
August 28, 2022
I think it was total $16,000. There was $2000 extra for the liplift (that was a discount). And extra for the necklift (scar under the chin) to pull out the bands.

You look beautiful. it's not uncommon to fall in love with your doctor (I did) but nothing came of it.You are so vibrant and your references to Mick and the stones didn't go unnoticed. by me. Your face is as young as your heart. I am so very happy for you!!!!
September 3, 2022
Mick and the Stones are in their 70's and every excess and over indulgence shows on their faces. But do they get surgery to look younger No. Why do we do it. Anyway that photo where you said "It's hard to be a super model. You look so much like my teenage woman crush Bridget Bardot. I think there is something in one's soul and outlook that makes age on a woman look less important. You've got that vibe and energy that screams youth from the inside out. Your surgeon put the cherry on the cake. Your energy is contagious! Go sister, Go Sister. (lady marmalade) Bless your heart I'm getting your vibes.

Well thank you!

Even Brigitte Bardot has aged! But what a beauty in her day, thank you for that comparison! I don't come close! I try to keep my sense of humor, even in these crazy times.
