4 weeks post op

I am so in love with my results. I have an amazing buttocks, thighs, hips, and TUMMY! I have actually cried over the results, because I can't believe this is my body! I feel like I can just go running or do Yoga. Unfortunately, I have to wait a few more weeks before then.

I have few aches and pains, but I just take some tylenol when that happens. I am not taking it more than once or twice a day now. I don't regret a single penny that I spent on this procedure. This is my second time around with Dr. Epstein, and I have never needed something "fixed" after the procedure. I did my research with Dr. Epstein and he is a "perfectionist" and an "artist"!

2 weeks and 4 days

I wanted to clarify why the price was so expensive for my surgery. I had a "tummy tuck" and Dr. Epstein actually had to create a new belly button, because the skin pulled down too far to be able to keep it in the same area. Also I had Lipo of the hips, thighs, buttocks and flanks. I also had fat transfers of the hips, thighs, and buttocks. The women in my family get pregnant and our "butt" collapses.

The results are incredible, and Dr. Epstein is an artist! He told me I was an ideaI. candidate for this procedure. I diet, exercise, and even take vitamins and I don't drink or smoke. I am 100% health conscious. But it was an evil joke to work so hard and lose so much weight, and my muscles never showed on my stomach or legs. With all the weight loss my skin lost it's elasticity. I feel like a whole new person.

I have made it through the two weeks of hell. Now don't misunderstand me, I am the outlier. I have many autoimmune illnesses and they can exacerbate my healing progress. I needed to be on the narcotic for almost 10 days, but everyday after that was better and better. And just this past Thursday 16 days post op, my single drain in my back was removed. I feel incredible now that I don't have a tail. I had the recommended amount of fluid build up, which is approximately less than 25CC's for a full 24 hours. Dr. Epstein does not like having a drain too long, because it can create infection, however they don't want to rush it either, because it is important to drain all of the fluid build up. If you are on the thinner side, he will definitely recommend the drain.

I also started the recommended massage therapy this past Tuesday. The doctor originally wanted me to start 3 days post op, but that was not in the cards for me. I was way too tender and in way too much pain. The massage therapist I was sent to is amazing and she actually helps me feel less pain each day. I will be going 3 days a week for 5 weeks. Some insurance companies cover this, but the massage therapist I am going to does not take insurance. However, the price she gave me is a "steal". I finally understand why you need massage therapy, because the areas of "trauma" get "hardened" and the tissues need to be massaged and relaxed, so that the body can heal more quickly. The body reacts by getting tight, because it is panicking. Massage therapy tells your body, that everything is alright.

Surprisingly, 2 weeks post op, I was only 3 or 4 pounds up from pre op. That is not bad with the amount of swelling you go through. I am still very swollen in the stomach, but my results make it worth every minute of the uncomfortable feeling. I will keep updating.

30 year old with one child and history of 100 pound weight loss as a child and history of 60 pound weight loss after pregnancy that needed mostly bed rest. I went to Dr. Epstein of Stony Brook before for my breast augmentation (Gummy Bears). I am very happy with his bedside manner and I am extremely impressed with his artistic abilities in plastic surgery.

I am currently 1 week post abdominoplasty. It was a very rough week, and it is getting much easier now. I was not on a narcotic long. In fact I am doing well with just extra strength tylenol now. The results I have are already looking fabulous, even with the swelling and the bruising and the stitching. It is all worth the money and the recovery time.
