Hi everyone! Thank you all so much for your reviews and updates throughout your experiences! I have relied on this site so much while making my decision to go ahead and get my tummy tuck!

I am a 31 yo mother of 2 (ages 9 and 13) and have never had a totally flat stomach. Pre motherhood I was never rail thin, but never overweight. I was always a happy medium and always was between a size 7 and 10. After motherhood was a different story!! Instead of losing the pregnancy weight I just gained and gained and finally ate myself to 212.5lbs on a 5'4" frame. Last year I started my weight loss journey on June 17th, 2011. I decided to make a lifestyle change and began to lose weight slowly. I am now 158lbs with a goal weight of 130-135lbs.

It was very easy to choose my ps as he performed my breast reduction and lift back in early 2004. I have so much faith in him! During my consultation I inquired about a few things including the tummy tuck, lipo to hips, thighs, chin, and sides of chest. Due to money (or lack of ) I finally decided to do the tummy tuck, with lipo of my hips, and lipo of lateral chest. My price includes all procedures with previous patient and combined procedure discounts. My ps said he includes lipo of flanks as well as mons pubis area with the tummy tuck.

I wish, wish, I could add the lipo on my chin!! (The chin was quite expensive even with a combined procedure discount) I am still somewhat hoping I can scrape some more money in the next two months for it though. As far as the thighs- decided no on the thighs for now, because my ps said I would have some extra skin (which I feel I already do). Besides--its only my uppermost part of my thigh that concerns me. I look good in shorts, just not in bikini bottoms.

I get so angry with myself sometimes that I let myself ruin my entire body over FOOD! In the end I am very proud of the almost 55lbs I have lost though.

So let the count down begin! My ps advised me to be within 15lbs of my goal weight. That means 8 more lbs to go with approx 8 weeks to do it in. Totally doable! He also said that my belly would generate about 6-8lbs of weight loss plus whatever he takes from my hips and lateral chest. Hoping for at least 10lbs total!

I would also like to add that my mother is getting her tummy tuck the same day as me with the same ps! (My procedure is first at 7am and her's is after mine) My mom and dad live 3 min from the ps surgery center so I plan on having my dad take me to my parent's house at least for the first night or two. (While my husband is totally supportive he works on Fridays and Saturdays and we live about 30 min away from the ps office down some hilly and windy roads--no fun post op).

Good luck to everyone with their recoveries! Thanks again for sharing your stories!

Welcome to RealSelf!   Oh my gosh how exciting that you get to do this with your mom!!   Your dad will have to sharpen up his nursing skills!

Definitely get to that ideal weight because it make a big difference in the final outcome.  You will have ultimate results!

Does your mom also have a review posted?

Hi! I'm about to get a tummy tuck with dr mabourakh as well and I was curious how you feel about his belly button technique. Do you feel like your new belly button looks natural? I'm interested in wearing a bikini post op and am mostly worried about the scar being too high and the belly button looking fake. Do you feel like you could wear a bikini without anyone being able to tell you got the procedure?

Post Op Day 11 Pic added. Still super swollen, but so, so happy! Drains were both taken out yesterday. My poor mom had to keep one in :( , because she is still draining quite a bit. So happy to have gone through this with her and so happy with my results!
