I have been wanting this done for a long time...

I have been wanting this done for a long time because of how unhappy i am with my mid section... although the Dr is recommending a tummy tuck because of loose skin, i have decided not to do it at this time... I am not ready for that big of a surgery.. I understand that i will still have loose skin and not a completely flat stomach, i am just trying to get rid of some of the bulge... I'm just having anxiety that it will look even worse!

I wanted to wish you well on your liposuction. I know it's a scary feeling to not know what the outcome will be but just think positive, you will be fine! Just be sure to ask lots of questions if you are not sure about something, don't hold back. Here is some information you might find helpful, also be sure to check in here to connect with others having lipo in November - you might make some recovery buddies! Good Luck:

Thank you very much for your positive encouragement!

I recently (almost 3 weeks ago) had a full tt through Dr. BURLIN in stkn. With Lipo on abdomen, flanks and back. For the cost and the amount of recovery I would move forward with the TT. The lipo is whats difficult to recover from. At week 3 I'm still swollen at the end of the day and barely fit in my pants. I am young, VERY fit and active and the lipo is what kicked my butt. I look great during the day but 7pm hits and the swelling comes back. glad I did this but boy the recovery from lipo is a process. My tt is healed and scar is minimal but wearing the binder and swelling from lipo is a task. JMO. Wanted to give you a little different perspective.

Looking at your pics made me go back to two months ago. I had my arms and tummy tuck in DEC 18 2014... Still wearing my binder 2 months later... they tool my drains out, and then had to put them back in... Now I have to get needles to drain my extra fluid...ITs a crazy process, but alllll SOOOO worth it! GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR HEALING PROCESS!!!!

Paid My Deposit!! No backing out now!

Had my consult today and confirmed my appointment for the 25th of November. Dr did say i would be a better candidate for TT than Lipo but i told him i may want more children and will probably need another c-section... so just lipo for now... he told me that there will be loose skin but i am already prepared for that...

96% sure I am ready for TT with lipo on flanks

loseAlittle
So, Originally i was scheduled for lipo of flanks and abdomen, even though my ps recommended a TT because of my loose skin. I had an unexpected family emergency and had to cancel the procedure. Seeing how i cannot get a refund, everything is sitting on the books, ready for when i reschedule. I really started thinking about it and am about 96 % sure that I want to go through with the TT. I have been stalking this site like crazy for a few years and have just been so scared to have the major surgery but i think that i am ready to commit. I was worried about the cost, the time off work and the recovery but i think that getting lipo will only make me look worse and more insecure than i already am by adding all of the loose skin once the fat is removed.

I have been going through a break up with my kids dad and he is so against plastic surgery and is so judgmental toward me and tells me that it's the easy way out and it's only for lazy people who dont want to work out and that if i diet and exercise i can get my body how i want it. I couldnt disagree with him more because no amount of exercise is going to tighten up the loose skin i have on my tummy. He just doesnt understand. So i think that is why i have felt so scared to do it all of these years is because of his negative judgement but it is my body my life. He ha no idea the amount of insecurities i have becasue of my body.

So i think i have made up my mind. after the holidays i will go back in and meet with my ps again and let him know i have changed my mind. (i'm sure he will be happy)
He was really concerned with the loose skin i would have after lipo...
i see that a lot of people talk about renting reclinders and hospital beds but man, i dont have the money or resources for that. has everyone done okay just with their regular beds?

Hi I read your post just wanted to let you know you don't need all that extra stuff you will be fine in a bed just extra pillows yes the stuff helps but I did fine without it. as for your husband he dosnt live in your skin so his advice really dosnt matter. I've done this twice its not that bad yes the first week is hell but after that every day is a little better giving your only real issue is skin you will be so happy you have done it your results will probably be amazing, hope it all works out

I had a tummy tuck and love love love it. I had some complications with a persistent seromas and still never regretted it. If you are going to do the lipo, to me it just makes sense to remove the extra skin and repair the muscle. Even this you will have a scar, you will love your new shape. Best of luck!!
