One week post op

I went for a 2 mile walk last night and felt ok. My left breast is still having issues. I'm experiencing some muscle spasms especially at night but like I said before I've experienced this before. I did some research last night and found out that some women were having issues with muscle spasms after increasing there activity in the gym. Before I had surgery I was experiencing some more muscle spasms in my left breast and I'm now learning that's from working out harder. I was doing heavy chest workouts twice a week. Didn't have any issues in the gym just was having lil muscle spasms at night. I see my doctor tomorrow so I can't wait to hear what he has to say.

Day 5 today...

Yay finally off muscle relaxers and norcos! I really don't like taking those so I always try taking the minimal amount without being in too much pain. Yesterday I only took a muscle relaxer and today I have no need to take anything but my antibiotics because I'm feeling no serious pain. I started my period the other day so I'm bloated from that too! Lol ugh... But still taking it easy and resting throughout the day. One thing I'm noticing is my left breast incision is more in pain to the touch than the right. Hopefully doesn't mean anything serious. And also, my left chest muscle feels a little more sensitive but I did have this problem/feeling the first time around. My doctor told me it was normal and will go away with time. So hopefully with the bigger implants it will still slowly fade away with time. I have my second appointment next week Tuesday with my doctor so well see what he says. Oh also, I workout 6-7 days a week so sitting still is killing me!! Lol I love working out and lifting weights so not being able to train for 6 weeks is going to suck so maybe he'll give me the OK sooner since this is my second surgery... At least do some cardio on the bike or somethin!

Hi everyone, I recently had breast augmentation...

Hi everyone,

I recently had breast augmentation last year July 9, 2013 with Dr. Silverton. I wish I had a picture with my original small breasts but I can't find one! I was about a 34a/34b small perky breasts. I have had no children. I am 5'6" and weigh about 145lbs. I'm very athletic so I weigh a lot because of muscle.

Last year I was referred to Dr Silverton and went in wanting a VERY natural look. Going up only a cup size maybe 2. Silverton said I could easily do 400-450cc with the amount of tissue I had but I told him I did not want to be a D cup. So we decided on 325cc. He told me the number one regret with his patients is that they wished they would have went bigger. Well I was stubborn and told him I would not regret it! I was in love with them! 325 was perfect for me and everyone agreed. Fast forward about 8 months and I got so used to them and thought they were too small! My perception on breast size totally changed. What I thought was big was now small lol so weird! I also then encountered some rippling in my right breast near the incision area and you could easily feel it in there if you were to grab it. I was not happy with that so about 10 months later post surgery I went to my doctor to ask what my options were and if going bigger would cause more problems. He mentioned a new implant that is supposed to be better than Mentor. It is called Sientra and their gummy bear is truly gummy bear. If it breaks, it does not leak. Mentor slowly leaks over time. And with that you would think Sientra would feel more firm but surprisingly there was no difference! Silverton had never used Sientra but the reps had been trying to sell him on them for over 5 years. After hearing my concerns, that if going bigger would cause problems and more rippling, he wanted to use the textured Sientra at 440cc HP. It was either 440 or 505 with the textured and we both agreed 505 would be too much and 440 would still give me a natural look. So we went for it!

So I had my second procedure 3 days ago, June 9, 2014 and I can definitely tell a difference in size. I was nervous the 440 wasn't going to be big enough and that I wouldn't even be able to tell a difference. My breasts are still swollen so time will only tell how much bigger they really got.

When I had my first procedure I had zero pain and discomfort. The day of surgery I felt great and was able to eat solid food and move around no problem. My second surgery has not been the same. I have more pain and discomfort then the last time and I'm thinking it's because the implants are a significant size change. Which I guess is a good sign! Lol.... It's day 3 and I'm feeling better. Still taking norcos and muscle relaxers. Be careful with the norcos! I learned that they cause some serious constipation!! Omg the first procedure I had I was backed up for almost 4/5 days and I took a laxative and it was the worse pain of my life! Worse then the surgery lol.. So now in the AM and PM I take a dulcolax pill. I also drink Metamucil and try and eat a lot of veggies and fruits. Luckily I only went 1 day without going. I will post more pictures as the days go on....

Dr. Silverton is an amazing doctor!! I'm so glad I decided to go with him a year ago. He is very informative about the procedure. He is all about the natural look and would never want his patients leaving unhappy. One thing I really liked about him is that not only is in an artist in the OR, but he creates these gorgeous oil paintings. They are framed all in his office. Check out his website and learn more about him! His office staff are very friendly also. Marisa and Stephanie rock!
