Hi everyone,

I recently had breast augmentation last year July 9, 2013 with Dr. Silverton. I wish I had a picture with my original small breasts but I can't find one! I was about a 34a/34b small perky breasts. I have had no children. I am 5'6" and weigh about 145lbs. I'm very athletic so I weigh a lot because of muscle.

Last year I was referred to Dr Silverton and went in wanting a VERY natural look. Going up only a cup size maybe 2. Silverton said I could easily do 400-450cc with the amount of tissue I had but I told him I did not want to be a D cup. So we decided on 325cc. He told me the number one regret with his patients is that they wished they would have went bigger. Well I was stubborn and told him I would not regret it! I was in love with them! 325 was perfect for me and everyone agreed. Fast forward about 8 months and I got so used to them and thought they were too small! My perception on breast size totally changed. What I thought was big was now small lol so weird! I also then encountered some rippling in my right breast near the incision area and you could easily feel it in there if you were to grab it. I was not happy with that so about 10 months later post surgery I went to my doctor to ask what my options were and if going bigger would cause more problems. He mentioned a new implant that is supposed to be better than Mentor. It is called Sientra and their gummy bear is truly gummy bear. If it breaks, it does not leak. Mentor slowly leaks over time. And with that you would think Sientra would feel more firm but surprisingly there was no difference! Silverton had never used Sientra but the reps had been trying to sell him on them for over 5 years. After hearing my concerns, that if going bigger would cause problems and more rippling, he wanted to use the textured Sientra at 440cc HP. It was either 440 or 505 with the textured and we both agreed 505 would be too much and 440 would still give me a natural look. So we went for it!

So I had my second procedure 3 days ago, June 9, 2014 and I can definitely tell a difference in size. I was nervous the 440 wasn't going to be big enough and that I wouldn't even be able to tell a difference. My breasts are still swollen so time will only tell how much bigger they really got.

When I had my first procedure I had zero pain and discomfort. The day of surgery I felt great and was able to eat solid food and move around no problem. My second surgery has not been the same. I have more pain and discomfort then the last time and I'm thinking it's because the implants are a significant size change. Which I guess is a good sign! Lol.... It's day 3 and I'm feeling better. Still taking norcos and muscle relaxers. Be careful with the norcos! I learned that they cause some serious constipation!! Omg the first procedure I had I was backed up for almost 4/5 days and I took a laxative and it was the worse pain of my life! Worse then the surgery lol.. So now in the AM and PM I take a dulcolax pill. I also drink Metamucil and try and eat a lot of veggies and fruits. Luckily I only went 1 day without going. I will post more pictures as the days go on....

Thank you!!! Yours look great as well! Did your right end up dropping? Also, my doctor made my incision a little bit larger too because the textured implants were a little harder to get in then the smooth ones.

Yes, finally @ 6 months its dropped. I think it will always sit a tad higher because I had slight assemetry pre-surgery. That makes sense now that u mention a larger scar due to accommodating the textured implant, I didn't really think about that!!!

Day 5 today...

Yay finally off muscle relaxers and norcos! I really don't like taking those so I always try taking the minimal amount without being in too much pain. Yesterday I only took a muscle relaxer and today I have no need to take anything but my antibiotics because I'm feeling no serious pain. I started my period the other day so I'm bloated from that too! Lol ugh... But still taking it easy and resting throughout the day. One thing I'm noticing is my left breast incision is more in pain to the touch than the right. Hopefully doesn't mean anything serious. And also, my left chest muscle feels a little more sensitive but I did have this problem/feeling the first time around. My doctor told me it was normal and will go away with time. So hopefully with the bigger implants it will still slowly fade away with time. I have my second appointment next week Tuesday with my doctor so well see what he says. Oh also, I workout 6-7 days a week so sitting still is killing me!! Lol I love working out and lifting weights so not being able to train for 6 weeks is going to suck so maybe he'll give me the OK sooner since this is my second surgery... At least do some cardio on the bike or somethin!

Wow you look great! We have almost the exact same build so I'm hoping mine turn out as good as yours did! I'm getting 421cc so a little smaller. Did you go over or under the muscle? Hope you're feeling well!

Thank u! Wow I didn't even put that I went under the muscle both procedures. 421 is a great size! Is that saline or silicone?

Ohh ok nice. Yea I noticed that going under makes them look a little smaller because they're compressed under the muscle? Idk but kinda makes sense. Can I ask why you're going over? I almost went over because I'm so active in the gym and didn't want complications while working out but the day of surgery I changed my mind because going under is the most natural looking. And luckily I've had zero problems working out.

My doctor basically told me I could do either and that over would be less painful during recovery. I'm also pretty active so that was another reason. I go Friday I'm freaking out!

Oh ok! Yea I was set on doing over the muscle but the day of surgery I changed my mind and went under. Mainly changed my mind because I really wanted them to look natural especially if I ever decided to lose more weight. Going over can have a more fake look but it depends if you're lean in the chest area or not. Definitely more painful going under but you pay for what you get. Good luck to you and regardless of what you choose they'll look great!!!

One week post op

I went for a 2 mile walk last night and felt ok. My left breast is still having issues. I'm experiencing some muscle spasms especially at night but like I said before I've experienced this before. I did some research last night and found out that some women were having issues with muscle spasms after increasing there activity in the gym. Before I had surgery I was experiencing some more muscle spasms in my left breast and I'm now learning that's from working out harder. I was doing heavy chest workouts twice a week. Didn't have any issues in the gym just was having lil muscle spasms at night. I see my doctor tomorrow so I can't wait to hear what he has to say.

Oh I forgot to ask: during your first recovery, how did you deal with no working out? I am super nervous about that part and honestly, I don't remember a week in the last 10 years that I did not go to the gym. Did you gain weight during the recovery? How did your body look after you went back into the gym? I wonder if that 6 week period makes a huge difference - maybe it is good to give the body a longer rest from time to time? I am really stressing over this part LOL, probably crazy but working out is therapeutic for me :)

Hi! My leftie is feeling soo much better! Thanks... So dealing with not working out really really sucks! Lol my one true love is working out and lifting weights and it was and is really hard to stay away from the gym. But it is so important not to lift weights if you're going under the muscle. Plus, you won't really want to because it is very uncomfortable lifting even stuff around the house and what not. But I honestly didn't gain much weight. The first maybe 5 days after your surgery your definitely gonna feel like you have since you'll probably be bloated and swollen. You just have to make sure your diet is clean. Lots of fruits and veggies aka fiber in the diet! Especially taking the pain meds. Omg those things are the devil be careful lol. This time around I'm very careful of what I eat and how much I'm eating. Especially since I'm going to Miami in less than 4 weeks! I'm also doing a 4 week tea cleanse so I'm hoping that helps me stay somewhat lean. I started taking 2 mile walks in the morning and at night since walking is all that's allowed! But to be completely honest, my first BA at 2 weeks post op, because I was feeling so good I started doing cardio in the gym. And at maybe 1 1/2 weeks I went back to work and I'm a server in a restaurant. I read from a lot of doctors on here that it was ok to do cardio even though my doctor recommended about 3-4 and doing upper body workouts at 6. I think I felt so good because my implants were only 325cc and I wasn't completely flat chested so I didn't experience too much pain. But this time around I'm in a little more pain so I'm trying to take it a little more easily. I definitely waited 6 weeks to try anything upper body. I might have waited 8 weeks to really do weighted chest workouts. Monday marks 2 weeks and if my left feels ok I might go in the gym and try the bike or the elliptical. I'm going crazy and need something that'll make me sweat! Lol.. But yea I'd say as long as your diet is clean, you take walks here and there, you'll be fine! You've been working out for years like me so you're healthy! You'll bounce back easily. The set back is worth it lol. Good luck to you, you're going to look great!!

Ok cool - thanks for the feedback :) that makes me feel better! I actually eat very clean year round so that shouldn't be an issue. I have been considering doing an Organic Body Cleanse after the pain meds are worn off so that I get that stuff out of my system! My doc said that I can do cardio at 3 weeks and walking from the beginning. Back to regular activity at 6 but I will see how I feel. I guess I will manage. I may actually lose muscle which will probably make me look slimmer. I don't really weight myself on a regular basis anyways but I definitely don't want my clothes to become snug ;) except for the tops! LOL
