Sternum tattoo removal

UPDATED FROM melissatuulia

After 9 sessions

$190
Oh wow, it’s been a while since I opened this app! So far I’ve had nine sessions done ( one year between them because it’s quite faded & I’m lazy ) and my laser nurse estimated that the next one will most likely be the last one I need! As the summer is approaching, I think I will have my final session fairly soon.

The most ironic thing about this journey is the fact that I got a new tattoo that I absolutely love! Of course tattoos aren’t for everyone and everyone’s reasons for removing their tattoo(s) are valid :)

For those in the beginning of their journeys: be patient and be prepared for more lasering sessions that have been estimated in the beginning. I was told that 6 sessions would be enough for my cabbage lizard, but here we are 9 sessions later. Everyone’s tattoo, skin and immune system works differently and results come in at different paces.

Sessions 3-7 and where I’m now!

To be honest I forgot to post here completely during my journey, so be prepared for some extra text and scattered process pictures.
After my 3rd removal with Q-switched laser I moved abroad for a while and was able to use a more advanced laser for tattoo removal. I don’t know exactly which laser it was, but on the side of the machine read a name ” Cynosure ” and OMG, that thing banished at least half of the ink on my tattoo away!! I saw some serious fading between- and little bit after sessions 3-6 which gave me tremendous hope for the future.
After moving back to my own country I went to my 7th treatment and I haven’t done any treatments since ( this was august 2020 ), because I don’t see any point in getting this super expensive treatment done when I can’t boost the results by going to the gym ( they’re closed over here because of covid-19 ). Being active definitely helps and I recommend everyone to do some form of cardio during this process!
Overall my tattoo has 100% faded. It’s still there, but since it’s very light I’m more fine with living with it. I’m just ready to have it removed completely and forget this whole awful experience of botching my own skin.
Oh yeah and I promise to remember to post now! :-)

What country did you have procedure done?
I live in Finland, but I moved to Australia for a couple months. I had 3 treatments done while I was over there :)
How many gaps between sessions?
For the first 7 I had from couple months to 5 months. Right now it has been 9 months since my last session and it keeps on fading.
I'm in the exact same situation. I got a sternum tattoo in black ink lines about 2 months ago (6cm large). It was my first tattoo and I regret it very much. Unfortunately, in my country there is only one clinic and it uses Q-switched technology. However you just gave me so much hope for myself. Thank you so much. I'm excited to get my clear skin back
Hello. I know it´s been a while, but how is your skin looking now? did you achieve full removal? (I have a similar sized black line work tattoo on my sternum and am thinking of getting it removed)
Hello there! I'm going to make an update very soon ♡

After 2 removals

Tattoo has clearly faded and is less black that it was in the beginning, I’m feeling really optimistic and more at peace with myself the more it fades. It doesn’t even bother me that much anymore! I have my third treatment in a couple days and I’m really keen to see it fade even more.

Do you have any updates?
I'm going to have my 4th treatment in a few weeks with different laser ( Picosure ) and I'm interested in seeing if it's going to make it fade better than Q-switched one. The tattoo has definitely faded and I've noticed that doing exercise and sweating helps the fading a lot!
Good luck! I already see some fading, so I hope the pico will work even better!
Don’t give up I’m going through tattoo removal myself and I have had four treatments , my stories on here and I did use the pico sure laser. There has definitely been some fading but from my understanding the newer the tattoo the harder it it can be to remove so don’t let that discourage you. Best of luck ! Keep us updated . Have you scheduled another treatment
It's a bit embarrasing to admit but I completely forgot to post my journey here and I'm down to 7 removals now, I'm going to do an update really soon to show how far I've come with removals!
