Tummy Tuck with Lipo of Outer Thighs - Sterling, VA

Three weeks post op and my results are amazing!!!! I still am swollen so can't imagine how much better I will look. My surgeon was amazing!!!!

It is day four post op of my tummy tuck. I am miserable. I don't even know what hurts worst right now. I am glad it is over. I know my surgeon did an awesome job, as I can tell through my garnment that my waist is small and my thighs look smaller even though I am super swollen.
I will share my experience since I have not written since last post (my preop).
Went in the morning of my TT and was scheduled for 0730 surgery. I had never had surgery before and I must say, that I thought I was in there for only five minutes! It was funny, they gave me versed IV when wheeling me over to the OR, I started laughing uncontrollably! Then I remember them putting a mask over my face and telling me to breathe deeply. Then I don't remember a thing. Until I woke up in recovery room and I remember asking "it's done?" I don't remember getting over to my room afterwards, I decided to stay the night so I could be taken care of at the hospital. I vaguely remember seeing my mom as they were wheeling me into my room. I vaguely also remember my surgeon telling me it all went well and that he had additionally found an umbillical hernia which he repaired as well. What a surprise!
First night I was comfortable. I had little pain, but comfortable, I had my pain pump and was able to press it anytime I felt pain. But then the post op nausea began... Oh my! I was given Zofran, it only worked for two hours, then I was back with terrible nausea and vomiting, which was awful for my tummy, and they gave me Phenergan. The Phenergan worked immediately and wonderfully, I needed another dose about 10 hours after. All in all, if I was to do this again, I would definitely stay overnight, because if it wasn't for the phenergan and pain pump, I would have had an awful first day post op. I was not allowed to get up, my surgeon put me on bedrest until day two.
Second day post op, my foley was out and I was allowed to go to the bathroom. It was superpainful to get up, but still had my pump. Felt very tight, and had to walk bent over. The hospital bed was wonderful for this procedure.
I was discharged on the second day, but day three and four have been awful at my house. I have not much help, only when my family members can come and help if anything. So if you are having this procedure, ensure you have someone who will help you and be in your home with you for the first week. I wish I did, but I don't have that luxury.
To this day, day four, I am feeling extremely weak and it is definitely hard to sleep. I really have not slept much because I cannot get comfortable in bed. I use my broom as help to get up and go to the bathroom. I have been eating chicken soup. I forgot to mention that, I got terrible gas pains on day two in the evening. I could not releive myself from this gas! It was awful. I got my mom to get me some Gas X for the relief and it seemed to work wonderfully. I however did not have a bowel movement until yesterday, day 3, and was able to with the help of Milk of Magnesia. It worked relatively fast within 2 hours for me, and did not give me cramps, emptied me out completely. As far as my pain medicine, I was perscribed Percocet, and seems to work for me. I just don't want to take it so much so I alternate with regular tylenol. I hope this gets better, I am looking forward to not walking like a duck anymore, I just sincerely want to feel better now.

I am Like many other women who resort to this type of surgery to get rid if excess skin and belly fat left from previous pregnancies. I am a thirty year old woman who has considered this surgery for the past 9 years. I have two wonderful little boys ages nine and six. My body took a dip south after giving birth to my children. I am in the military and have always managed to stay in shape, however the appearance of my stomach was always displeasing to me. Not being able to wear a two piece bathing suit during my twenties was definitely very discouraging and I have found it hard to deal with confidence since my divorce a few years ago.

I am hoping to gain more confidence in myself. Every time I look I. The mirror it honestly makes me sad. I am nervous about having this surgery but at the same time I am so looking forward to having a flat tummy. I look forward to my clothes fitting better and not having to suck it in all the time LOL!

I am scheduled for a full tummy tuck and liposuction of the outer thighs. I have accumulated fat in that area which my surgeon suggested it would make a big difference in my appearance in and out of clothes.

Hopefully this post and future posts helps other women out there experiencing anxiety with this surgery. I plan to follow up to share my progress and to share my experience just like other ladies out here have done already. For those who have thank you!
