Intense Pain Only in Some Areas with Sculpsure

Sculpsure treatment #2

So I just had my second Sculpsure treatment yesterday. Last time the pain level was so intense on my outer thighs & abdomen that I had to squeeze someone's hand and take a prescription pain pill. This time we did my outer thighs at the same level (worked up to max) & I felt nothing (or barely a thing). So I really can't explain the difference. Maybe there are different layers of fat or densities that affect it and we had already melted away one layer last time?? I have gotten frustrated with docs on this site that are saying it is painless and anyone who feels pain is either a wimp or that their clinic did the procedure incorrectly. The truth is NO ONE KNOWS yet why it is painful sometimes & not other times. Just because one patient doesn't feel a thing doesn't mean the next won't. I am still hoping that my results will be worth it. Interesting to note that this time my fat didn't all harden into one mass right afterwards either. It makes me worry that when you don't feel pain then it's doing nothing, but only time will tell. Will update.

Thank you for posting an update of your experiences. I will be trying this procedure soon. I think I will take pain meds upon arriving at the office, as a precaution. did the meds help you?
I took hydrocodone & it was still very painful in certain areas. I would hate to think what it would have been like without it!
wow, bummer. that’s what I’m going to take too!
This was so very painful I couldn't believe it! I thought it would be uncomfortable but it certainly felt like torture. It was at the highest level on my stomach, the bottom then the top. I have to admit I almost tapped out a couple times, and had to bite on my finger and squeeze my shirt....it was like labor pains.... I can't believe I paid someone to torture me like that LOL!!!! I really hope to see results after all of that...this is only day 3, and I'm still quite sore....
Hi Bartpam, I hope you’ll consider posting a review to keep us updated! I’m extremely curious to see if you see results eventually. that stinks on the pain level! best wishes!
How are your results now?
I had pain...almost to the verge of not being able to take it. I held a cold pack the whole time
Guinness, do you have a review? I’d love to follow your progress!
Pain is an indicator to STOP.
I had Sculpsure done in 3 areas all on the same day - started with back of thighs/outer hip (saddlebags I guess is more appropriate) then did flanks and finished with lower stomach ... it hurt a bit on the thighs (not bad) and one side of flanks had a few stinging times - but my stomach killed me ... and I did not think I would make it through ... had to get the technician to get me ice packs to hold on the area's around where the machine was on my skin. And then about an hour or two later my skin on my stomach felt like the worse sunburn ever - just the fabric from my shirt touching it hurt immensely - I took a bunch of OTC painkillers (Tylenonol) but pain of "sunburn" lasted at least 12 hours - the other pain was on all of my areas for about 2-3 days pretty much like a bad bruise - a week later still a bit tender - took anbout until the 3rd week for all of the pain to be gone - weird that you mention having nodules (bumps) on the part that hurt the worse - because I have the same thing - on my stomach one about the size of a large grape ... had a few small bits on thighs but nothing like this one on my stomach - it's been 5 weeks and it is still there ... I go back in for my second treatment in a few days so I'm hoping the second time isn't anywhere near as painful as the others ...
Be careful about taking pain meds because that is part of the process of them being able to ask you if you are feeling pain ... so in other words you want to be able to tell them if it is too much for you to take ... also you can;t take anything with any anti-inflammatory properties

Pics of outer thighs post treatment #1

Pics of outer thighs during the week after the first Sculpsure treatment. These treatments were painful. The hard area that you can see started small post treatment & grew throughout the week. Then it slowly went away except for a few hard areas that seemed to move deep into my thigh.

Any hard areas would concern me. Even if they just moved deeper. I wish you well.
What was your massage routine after the treatment?

I am writing this review to answer some of the other patients who have asked about intense pain during Sculpsure. Do not believe anyone, including a doctor, who says the pain you experience is due to your pain threshold. Wrong. I have a high pain threshold. I had Sculpsure done on my outer thighs & abdomen & it was very painful, including some muscle cramping. I actually had to stop the abdominal one. BUT right afterwards they did it on my flanks & I didn't feel a thing. I actually thought something was wrong because I couldn't feel anything, but the setting was all the way up & the plates were making contact. I do not have more than 30% body fat. This was all in the same day with the same tech. As far as stretch marks being the issue, while I may have some on my abdomen from having kids I also have them on my flanks. There has to be another explanation. It's new technology & it appears we don't have the answers yet. Luckily, the pain does go away. I am doing a second treatment with pain meds today to give it one last shot.

P.S. I noticed about a 5-10% reduction in fat from the first treatment. Only slightly noticeable difference if you really analyze before & after. No one else would notice a thing.
Do your clothes feel different? So excited to hear about your results 12 weeks after second procedure and if you think it's worth it.
How did your painless flanks turn out?
Just wanted to mention that after my second treatment I have realized something else. In the areas that were the most painful I developed hard lumped fat afterwards & some bruising, but not in the areas that were not painful. Of course, the lumps & bruising does go away eventually. Just an interesting note.
thank you so much for sharing that information. I will be getting this done soon, and it really helps to hear about your experiences!
thank you for this review. i went for a consult today. hoping to start my first procedure next Friday. i am going to Jamaica at the end of the month, i hope i don’t have issues.I will be having my flanks done
Love your review. How long did it take for bruising and lumps to go away? Did you massage? Thank you
Hey! I’m thinking about having SculpSure but thank you for letting us know about the pain. I know everyone is different and their experience of having the procedure. But I’m glad I and across your review.
Hey! I'm actually in the Charlottesville area. Where did you go if you don't mind sharing?
How are your flanks now, two months later? I’m having this done of my flanks July 18. I’m hoping for minimal pain.
