Yesterday was the day. Felt totally comfortable with the surgeon when I met him. I was given all the precautions about expecting to look like I had been beat up. Following ice protocols and hoping for the best.

I had been considering this for a couple years for more cosmetic reasons but when my vision started to be restricted I felt it was time!

Have some photos to post but need to get them right side up.

This is going to heal great!!! Be patient - stay away from the mirror and salty foods! Stay hydrated! I started to question it too but I was wrong ! And you can always ice your eyes in the morning for a bit since the swelling is worse in the mornings! Congrats!!!

Thank you. I was advised not to use the ice anymore, maybe I need to.

Thanks so much for sharing! Your incisions look a lot like mine (which I think is a good thing). :) Is your incision still bleeding?

48 hours out and worried

I have been texting the doctors office daily with photos of the swelling. Well I was told I would look like I had been beat up, I wasn't fully prepared. It seems as though the redness is extreme and the swelling below my eyes more than should be. Has anyone else experienced this phase to this degree?

Hi Jaime, I had my surgery two weeks ago and I looked just like you. Be Prepared to look bruised for the next couple of weeks. I took Bromelain before and since surgery. Also have been applying Auriderm post op cream twice a day. I didn't take Arnica because Amazon didn't send it to me in time. You have to be patient with the recovery it is a litle more involved them you have believed. I still have some bruising under my eyes, but pretty well covered with concealer. My swelling is pretty much gone. Your eyes make start to feel tight and the incision will get hard and bumpy but it will go away in time. Hang in there.

Thanks for the support. I have been sending photos to the doc and he has assured me that it was normal. It is way different from what they described. I am due for jury duty on Monday( 5 days post) and suspect I would not be a welcome sight in the courthouse!

What has your doctor's office said about your swelling? You are still early days so try not to stress too much.
