Starting Out With SmileDirectClub

Sorry guys, I know I took a long hiatus from updating this review. I kept everyone up to date via the Facebook group. But to catch you guys up to speed, I began treatment on 3/24/2018, and I completed treatment 8/11/2018. This was probably the longest 5 months of my life! I found myself making alterations to my diet because I wasn't able to bite due to tooth pain. There were many days when my meals consisted of shrimp, soup, mashed potatoes, spaghetti, and a few other non-hard foods. The tooth pain subsided after a few days and I was able to eat normally again. The thing is, by the time the pain subsided, it was time to switch to a new set of trays, so the pain started all over again lol. I don't think I had any other complications such as tooth sensitivity or gum recession. The biggest thing was the weight loss! I lost roughly 15lbs throughout my treatment which was totally unexpected. My teeth got whiter from all the brushing that is required. Currently, I'm in my retainers, which took about 3 weeks to arrive after order. I've had no issues with SDC and would recommend them to anyone who was looking for an inexpensive way to correct their smile.

So my aligners finally arrived! They came Friday, but I wasn't able to pick them up until Saturday due to my leasing office being closed. But I wanted to get some wear out of my aligners before I did an update. But so far, so good. My aligners snapped on with no issues. The pain didn't come in until I tried to put them back on after eating...my front teeth were in so much pain! The pain subsides after a while, and only comes back around meal time. Since my teeth are in pain occasionally and I can't bite anything, I'm reduced to eating applesauce, smoothies, mashed potatoes, and anything I don't have to chew. I'll provide another update once I switch trays Saturday night.

Just got the email at work today that my aligners have been made and are on the way! I almost jumped on top of my desk from excitement! Exactly a month from my order date and my aligners are in the mail. Hopefully they’ll be here by the end of the week. Might as well get all my snacking out of the way now lol.
