I went to Dr. Kaas because of his seemingly...

I went to Dr. Kaas because of his seemingly insightful comments about lasers, specifically the Co2 laser. I told him I'd been through a lot, seeing practitioners who insist whatever they offer would be the best to help hard tacked down trauma scars, and other skin damage.
Dr. Kaas recommended another procedure, which was more money than I had. I don't think it was overpriced, not at all, or that it would not be a good procedure -- if all things were equal.
But Dr. Kaas settles on what he wants to do, and is almost bullying about doing it to the exclusion of everything else. I believe patients have an instinct about their bodies, especially if you've been through a lot -- you learn a lot.
I couldn't see how the weekend lift would work to the best with very hard, difficult scars around the mouth. I explained I wanted to have ablative Co2 (active fx is what I am looking for) to soften the very hard tissue. I also wanted it to tighten the damaged skin, which I'm sure it would also help. Then other procedures would have a better outcome. How can you pull up skin scarred down?
His near bullying insistence was just what I ran into in Miami, by the surgeon who insisted the procedure he wanted to do was the ONLY approach and I sure am not going to get involved with someone like that again. That's how I got in this horrible nightmare.
But I really think it is because Dr. Kaas does NOT have a laser. He may pontificate about what he thinks is the best laser, but he doesn't use them. Each time I called I asked what kind of laser does Dr. Kaas have and nobody in his practice knew. That is odd. Dr. Kaas said he does laser work after doing lifts, and then it turned out he was referring to a peel, which he said he called laser work. To be fair, the peels before and after looked wonderful in the photos he showed me. But a peel is not a laser.
I felt that my instincts and concerns about my own body were just dismissed. No doctor should ever do that. Nor should they ever be so cavalier about a patient who has been financially drained by either mercenary practitioners or those of goodwill who did not really have the means to improve scars.
And nobody should ever forget what scars on a person's face do to your psyche. I was not a patient walking in saying hey, I want to look a few years younger (who wouldn't?) but I had a specific problem. If he would not help that, he should be honest and not try to bully people into just doing what he does daily. And for some reason, he made an issue over that it had been two months since I first saw him (I returned to talk with him more, he says he has an open door policy) and I really don't know what that was all about. I had TMJ surgery on July 28, and that took a while to recover from. I say beware of those who push you into what you think isn't going to really work for you. I also find it very odd that he spent so much space on this site discussing lasers. I even printed it out and brought it to my first visit.

I was interrupted a few times, but Dr. Kaas seems to make it seem like he's listening.
