to feel confident when wearing clothes, not have people think that I was pregnant, be confident when naked. I was not prepared for the lengthy recovery. The drugs made me loopy for 10 days post op and I have no recollection of this time. I needed a lot of assistance to move around and be catered to. I did not expect to have drains post op and was not told this prior to surgery. I could hardly eat for a month and had difficulty swallowing and became satiated quickly. It took at least 6 months to be able to do a sit up. It took about a year to achieve a natural feel for the stretched skin. It totally moved my pubic area upwards so my hair line was higher. I had to take 6 weeks off work since I have a physically demanding job, and even when I went back it took a while to feel strong again. With all that I am still very pleased that I underwent the surgery, I just wish that I would have been a little more prepared for the length of recovery.
