I weighed 243 lbs and I hated myself and what I had become. Career was going no where and like most who have it, I tried ever diet imagined and would lose and gain. It has been almost 14 years for me and I am now age 63. I lost 110 lbs and just in the last two years have gained back 17 lbs. I guess I can live with that. I am also in a national study that I partake in every 3 to 4 years where I get to go into a major teaching hospital and tests run on me what would normally costs over $10,000 and what was sad for me on my last visit is how many women and men gained their weight back. I have followed a few of the rules like no sweets (or rarely now) and no carbonated beverages. One of the required classes I went to showed a ziplock bag and then it was filled with coke and sealed and within 20 minutes the bag was very extended and we were told that is what would happen to our new stomachs. Now they have the new Sleeve that was not available when I had my gastric bypass. But I am still happy 14 years later. If you go this route do NOT ruin it by overeating again.
