It has been 13 days since my first Miradry...

It has been 13 days since my first Miradry procedure. I have read on some posts to expect to experience small round, what was described as, "tumors"- that is the case for me. My underarm hair is growing back and the great news is that I still haven't sweat! There is still some tenderness, swelling, and at time, it seems like there is a "range of motion" issue where there is some discomfort when I fully raise my hands above my head. The procedure does damange and it takes time to heal. The doctor said that they recommend a three month wait between procedures so they know, for sure, you are totally healed-- so, I'm thinking it is going to be a few more weeks for me. But overall, I'm 100% satisfied and 100% dry!

I have struggled with excessive underarm sweating...

I have struggled with excessive underarm sweating for the past decade. During that time I’ve tried prescription and over the counter deodorant, Drionic, and medication, but nothing worked long term and substantially reduced the sweating. So, the search continued and I found Miradry!
I had my first treatment on April 5, 2013. I followed the directions and shaved my pits a day or two in advance and took 600mg of ibuprofen an hour before the procedure. My appointment was at 1 and I was done be 3:15. The process went pretty smooth. I didn’t experience any pain. At times the shots used to numb the area were uncomfortable and the hand piece got a bit hot in about four spots, but nothing so painful we stopped. I had a “level 3” treatment and learned that the number doesn’t change the intensity of the laser/beam/microwave, but instead it has to deal with how long the “heat” is on—10 seconds or 15 seconds, for example. On a 1-5 scale of “how bad is the sweating and how bad does it impact your life?” I would say mine was around a 4. I will say the pictures I have seen on this site pretty much sum up what it looks like. I’d describe the feeling as though you put a pancake flat on your pit and put your arm down. The doctor said that the worst he has heard the swelling described as was like getting a breast implant in your pit. I really haven’t suffered from pain or hard core swelling. Just make sure to put ice packs on regularly!
Outcome: So far, so good. I am not sweating at all…it’s amazing! 100% effective (today)! But, I know the procedure causes damage and by the nature of my pits being damaged they “shut down” to heal. My thinking is that it will all need to heal for a few weeks before I have a better idea of how much it really helped and make a decision about the 2nd recommended treatment. I am really happy so far with how it all went. I’d highly recommend it to anyone!
