First off, I will say that I'm very straight forward and honest about my encounters. It may come off as blunt, but it will be honest. I'm going to make my reviews and posts as detailed and up to date as possible, as I wish others would have done during my research phase. I started by doing so much research and asking a million questions to the women that I know who have had the procedure done already. I have 2 children and birthing them ruined the volume in my breasts. I have been self-conscious for years. I'm currently a small B cup, wanting to be a small D cup. I narrowed my search down to 2 plastic surgeons in St. Louis (Dr. Boschert and Dr. Nathan). They both had different styles in my consultations today. Dr. B is personable, down to earth and easy to talk to. He doesn't charge a consultation fee and his staff is very nice and efficient. The process was relaxing and delightful. I only waited for about 5 minutes in the waiting room and then I was taken into a peaceful, meeting type room to watch a video. After the video, I spoke with the nurse for about 10 minutes and then the doctor came in and discussed the process, the different implant types and their benefits, as well their cons. Once I decided the implant type, we proceeded to an exam room where I tried on sizers to see what I expected my breasts to look like under a shirt and he measured my breasts. Once that was complete, we went back to the meeting room and discussed that the size I wanted was appropriate to give me a natural look, yet add tons of volume. He then explained each follow up visit and when they would take place. The last step was speaking to the patient coordinator about pricing, scheduling and payment. She was pleasant and easy to talk to. Very nice and smiley. The total estimate including a garment was $6910. Dr. Nathan was nice and professional, but I felt like he was very scripted during our consultation. It started with me waiting 30 minutes in the waiting room. Then I was taken to an exam room . The nurse asked a few questions and left the room. She then came back in and asked if I wanted to go ahead and do the imaging while I waited on the doctor. I agreed to go ahead and do it, even though that meant getting undressed twice. The doctor comes in with a student doctor and went through the motions of where the implant would be placed, explained everything that could go wrong and the healing process. He handed me the sample implants and asked which one I liked. The nurse came back and asked the doctor to help her in another room really quick. (I was like really?! I paid $75 for this consultation, it shouldn't be interupted. But ok!) Then he came back in and measured my breasts and pulled the images the nurse had taken up on the computer. He used imaging to show me what my breasts would look like with the implant I wanted and the size I had requested (which was pretty cool). Then I went into the patient coordinator's office. She didn't seem very friendly. Kinda pushy for me to schedule my surgery right then and there and just dull really. She told me the cost would be $7080 and that my consultation fee would be deducted from that if I scheduled the surgery. I have decided to go with Dr. B on this one, because of his knowledge, the information he provided was in depth and his experience shows great work. I feel that it's very important to have a plastic surgeon that you feel comfortable with and whom possesses a great staff. I decided to go with the gummy bear gel implant and as of right now, they will be 445 cc. That could change with my next appointment. I will have to go in 2 weeks before my surgery for a pre-op appointment. I will continue to update this as I go and post pics soon. If there are any questions that you have, please don't hesitate to ask.

I HAD MY LAST PRE OP APPOINTMENT TODAY. I tried on sizers again to finalize my desired look and we did the 3D imaging to see what they will look like pre op. The technology that we have today is insane. They looked fabulous! So I decided to go with a 560 cc implant to achieve a full D cup. I still like the feel and vibe at the office and all of the staff are great! I had to pay the surgeon fee's and implant fees today. Now I only have to pay for the surgery center and anesthesia fee's on the day of surgery. I got all of my prescriptions and directions today as well. They also provided me with arnica Montana to take during my healing process. Now I just prepare my home and myself for surgery on the 27th. So far I have purchased extra pillows, a u shaped pillow, a bed tray to hold my things as I rest, a step stool to make it easier to get into bed, water proof tape for my incisions, bending straws, a zip up night gown, a zip up hoodie to wear after surgery, baby wipes, ice packs, moisturizer and lip balm. I will add anything else I may purchase before surgery. I'm going to post some pics taken today to show me before.

Day of Surgery

Hello ladies. I had my BA done yesterday at 1:15 pm central? time by Dr. Boschert at the St Peter's Ambulatory Surgery Center. The prepping process was pretty simple. I checked in an hour early, as requested. Paid my anesthesia fees and operating room fees, completed some private policy and notice of risk paperwork and then waited for about 15 minutes. The nurse came and took me into an area with about 6 beds, all equipped with gowns, hair nets, a blanket and a plastic ( pool looking blow up raft), then they hooked it to a hose that pumped hot hair through it to keep me warm. I did a urine test to verify that I wasn't pregnant, changed into my gown and hair net and got comfy in the bed. The nurse then placed compression socks on my legs to prevent blood clots and started my IV. She gave me two small pills, one for nausea and one to relax me. The anesthesiologist came in and asked me several questions about my health history, listened to my heart and lungs and assured me that all would be well. After waiting a few more minutes, Dr. B came in, had me stand up and marked his guides with marker around my breasts. Next thing I know, one of the nurses is putting meds in my IV and I'm getting pushed to the OR. It was extremely cold in there. I just kept praying for the anesthesia to kick in so that I wouldn't be cold anymore. They put me onto an operating bed, gave me a mask of 100% oxygen and I was out. The Dr. ended up going with a 560cc silicone implant in my left breast and a 605cc silicone implant in my right one to make the volume match a lil better. I woke up at 3:00pm in a recovery area feeling extremely thirsty with the worst pressure on my chest and pain on the sides of my boobs and upper arms. I had to be given nausea meds right after waking, but there was nothing too bad. I stayed in recovery for 30 minutes and then I was able to leave. Getting into the car without pain was an issue for real. So... I left the surgery center, went to get some food and checked into the hotel. They were very accommodating, as they saw that I wasn't at my best. I took my pain meds, had my lovely mother set my pillows up and tried to lay down propped for a while (bad idea). Trying to lay down and get up is a horrible feeling. We read all of my discharge paperwork, watched a lil T.V and then I walked around the hotel, trying to do the small arm exercises the Dr told my mom that I had to do. They weren't too painful, but unexpected I'll say. After that I called some friends and family to report on my experiences today and my mother and I went to get take out for dinner. I iced my chest, ate my yummy food (McAllister's), took my meds again and laid down. I fell asleep for about 4 hours before I was awake and in pain again. I took more meds for pain and another muscle relaxer. So far the pain is worth it from what I can see. I'm not able to peek at the new girls yet, because my surgical tape is stuck to my compression bra at the bottom and it hurts to try and open the bra. It's currently 3:01am and I've been up since 1am, with no sleep in sight. ???? I do have my first post op appointment in the morning at 10:30. Please let me know if I can answer any questions. I'll update this as much as I can. Thanks! I am under a lot of meds, so I apologize for any grammar issues now.
