I had the tummy tuck 6 weeks ago, two years after having brachioplasty (loose skin removed from arms). I lost a significant amount of weight several years ago. After maintaining for a few years I noticed the loose skin was just getting worse with time. Dr. G. did a fantastic job on my arms, so when I was ready for the next step, he did my tummy tuck. He did an amazing job, and was honest about having reasonable expectations and what to expect from the recovery process. He emphasizes regular follow up visits, which he does not charge for, for a year after a procedure is done. His office team is also wonderful. When I feel like I want any other procedures, I wouldn't hesitate to have Dr. G. work on me again. He understands that taking care of yourself, yet still having some physical defects that can't be helped with diet and exercise, can have a psychological impact that he can help ease with surgical intervention.

Still dealing with some swelling and tightness in both my abdomen and legs. For the last few weeks, I have had an adjustable stand-up desk in my office, so I don't sit all day. That helps. I also think it's better for me in general. The swelling is just a minor inconvenience, but an inconvenience just the same. I notice on the days I wear slacks that as the day goes on the waistband and legs feel tighter. I was hoping this would be done by now, but I guess I need to wait it out. I am getting more regular exercise, but I'm not even close to being at the same level I was pre-op. As long as I'm dealing with swelling and the pulling feeling, I don't want to take any risks by over-doing. I'm also hoping that getting back into exercise will help with the saddlebags on my thighs and a ridge on my butt, which are more pronounced. I think that came from wearing my support garment tightly, like I was supposed to, and then other loose flesh I have pooched out underneath like squeezing a toothpaste tube. Some of my skirts still don't fit because of that. If exercise doesn't help over the next few months, I'm getting my thighs and butt liposuctioned.
