Oooooooo no!!!! Can they give you iron to get you where you need to be

Awww.....honey!! {{{{BIG HUGS}}} I'm so sorry to hear that! Are they giving you iron to help you get it up? Do you need a blood transfusion or do you just need supplements? Bless your heart! Try not to get down {easier said than done, I know}, but be glad they caught it before surgery. Now when you are ready, you will have normal levels of iron/blood then you will have an easier time during and after surgery. You can probably reschedule your surgery until your iron levels are in the normal range. Is there a reason why your levels are so low? {Health wise, I mean} Or is this just a fluke thing? At any rate, I am so sorry for all the stress and stuff so close to your surgery date. {{{{{BIG BIG HUGS}}}}

I ran into a snag early on with my surgery planning. I had to wait until my tests came back normal also. My first consultation was in April, but I wasn't able to schedule the surgery until last month, August. At first, I was so upset and then I realized it would give me time to work on my health, losing any more weight, etc. It was way longer than I wanted, but it has worked out ok. I hope that yours does also and that you get your numbers well into the "normal" levels very soon. Please keep us updated!

Your tummy looks like mine did, but mine was much larger. I don't know if you have noticed, but being on this board has helped me realize that our bodies look like a lot of other people's. I think you are very brave and hope that you love your new tummy. In a bit, I am going to have my hubby help me post my own 'befores" and some "afters" photos. You can see how much of a difference it is for me even with the swelling.

You are 10 days away! How are you feeling? Excited? I would definitely get a walker and toilet seat riser. LOTS of pillows too. :)

I would live to see your pictures! My pictures look so much worse than ones I see. I think I just see the worst in myself. I am super nervous. I am taking two weeks and a day off. I hope it is enough. I am picking up a toilet seat riser on Monday and borrowing a walker. Thanks so much for telling me. I thought of those but I wasn't sure if I was going overboard. I got a robe today with pockets to put the bulbs.

I have updated my review with my before and some after photos if you would like to go take a look. I do not think yours is the worst on here. Not by a long shot! {{HUGS}} I know that it can feel that way though. I actually liked looking around the site at pictures of everyone. It made me realize that my body has done what a lot of other Mommy bodies have done over the years of pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight gain, weight loss, and with aging. I could not find a body shape {tummy especially} as large and protruding as mine. I decided to post the before/afters so that other ladies coming along could see that they aren't alone in their body shapes and what they may expect with a tt.

I definitely could not have done without the walker, toilet seat riser, or shower chair. We got the shower chair with the back on because I don't think I could have kept myself up that long. I still can't stand up straight and not sure how long this will last. I also can't say enough about having LOTS & LOTS of pillows. I have two for my back, one for my head, one to sit on, two to raise my legs, and one to hold my stomach. {For coughing, getting up, riding in car, protecting my tummy from animals & kids. lol
I love your idea about the robe pockets to hold your drain bulbs. Very smart!

It is getting closer to your time to be on the flat side!! Yay!!! We are here for you! {{{{BIG HUGS}}}

congratulations on your weight loss! Besides the obvious (eating less and exercising more), what strategies did you use to lose the weight??
August 17, 2015
Thanks! Sorry I dididn't do anything special. I am eating 1,250 calories , about 100 grams of protein and 30 minutes of exercise a day. Once a week I pick a meal to eat off plan. This has helped with my anniversary and birthdays in august. It isn't easy and I couldn't do this for very long. Fear was my motivation because I didn't want my surgery to not happen or be postponed.
