Ectropion Because of Upper Eyelid Surgury (Upper Blepharoplasty) - Springfield, MO

ORIGINAL POST

I did not have uneven or entropion on my eyelids...

$2,800
I did not have uneven or entropion on my eyelids before the surgury. I paid a good amount of money to make my eyes look more awake and an eyelid I can easily put make up on.

I know I'm still swollen by just a few days post op, but I guarentee it is not the swelling that is causing the entropion. The suture is either too tight or attached to the wrong muscle! When my eyes are open, the flipping out of the eyelid is obvious!

Can my doctor do a quick adjustment so I don't have to wait months before I can fix this again! I go back to school next month! I don't see how he was able to make one eye like it should be, but do it wrong on my other eye!

Please tell me he is able to adjust this somehow!

Have you asked your doctor about it?

Yes I have. He says it happens and should self correct. I'm just worried because I will need my eyes to look somewhat normal before going back to classes next month.

Hi, I did my double eyelid surgery in April. One side of my eyelid happen to be about the same as yours. I email the doctor n ask him what should I do. He just reply me the lateral side of my left eyelid is raised up by one too tight hanging stitch. I can rub over the left wound with my index finger several times a day for a few weeks then my eyelashes will become equal to the left which should be 90° forward so don't worry. But till now my eyelid is still higher than my right side. I did email him again with regard to this, this time round he advisor me to go back to him then he need do a revision but is FOC. But to me I would't want to risk my eyelid with this doctor again. I will save more money to find a better doctor to do a revision.

I think you should get a second opinion from another doctor.

I hope you find support in our community- please let us know what happens.  I would think you will have a post-op appointment soon- maybe your doc can give you more info on a healing timeline then?

Omg! I'm so sorry. I'm on this forum to review doctors for my own revision. Mine are not even and I feel it won't get better with time either, but they are no where near your results. What does your doctor say about this? I know 2 girls who had flipped lids and both went to fix it in Korea. I met both on different forums but both happen to get their eyes fixed by the same doctor. I might consider him if I don't find some capable in the U.S. I just hate the long flight.

One of my lid is flipped higher than the other. But it's not that visibly noticeable after a few months. I think yours will come down eventually.

UPDATED FROM jxps
5 months post

Eyelids are still uneven and entropian is still noticeable

jxps
I just added 5 month post op photos.

First, I would like to add that he didn't properly measure my eyelids. They're clearly uneven. The entropian eyelid is still visible. There's so much skin left, it's hanging over my crease when my eyes are closed.

I'm curious if eyelid surgery is done with a patient on a completely flat surface.

I appreciate all the answers doctors. Thank you so much. I just want to know, what needs to happen now?

My doctor and I agreed on 6 mm. My eyelids are so much smaller than anticipated. If I knew only 1-2 mm would be apparent then I would have opted to get bigger eyelids. Am I in the wrong, or misinformed?

Did u ever take progress pictures from 1 month - 4 months? Would love to see these.. Thanks!

They look beautiful! It's really hard to go from completely monolid to a 6mm crease since there's so much extra skin hanging.
