Ultherapy Can Make You Look Worse! - Spokane, WA

ORIGINAL POST

I read the reviews the good, the bad, the ugly......

Valleyford

I read the reviews the good, the bad, the ugly... thought, well, I will be one of the lucky ones who gets a positive result. All I can say is: NO. Don't. Just don't. If you have pronounced fat beneath your chin, OK, you'll see some slimming. For the rest of us, it creates worse "turkey" neck than before. This is one procedure that can actually make you look worse. The rest of my face is also experiencing that fallen, drawn look. This is absolutely NOT worth it. Save your money for a face lift. Really. (Photos to come)

Same review. She's right! You will NEED a facelift and hopefully restore your eye shape as well after ultherapy. Worst thing i ever did. I can't stand the way my face looks now...

I am so sorry. I don't know why Real Self maintains a 68% worth-it rating when the results are so inconsistent. I would rather have had NO result than this result. There is NO disclosure given that indicated anything like: some people will experience noticably MORE skin laxity in treated areas. Probably a class action law-suit possibility at some point for a law firm that's willing to take this on.

How long ago did you have it done?

Congratulations on your sobriety. I believe you. Your eyes are from the Ulthera. We all get them eventually except the lucky ones who didn't do anything around their eyes. We may have affected our long-term DNA as well. I will have more answers o Tuesday. Hold tight....I will share.

Brighteyes, you said you are going to consider continuing with Ultherapy on the lower have of your face. My advice is: don't! If you are responding poorly on your eyes, you may also have some weird reactions on your face. I sure did. I now have pitting, and dimpling, jowling and wrinkling where I did not have any before. I look like I have aged 10 years. It's really weird. Not imagining it. Now have to pursue a facelift. Scary.

No. Does not wear off. The Ultherapy info indicates you will continue to experience facial change for at least 6 months.

I just had Ultherapy done and am also noticing the "stoney" eyes. My eyes are smaller than they were- it's like they shrunk from the temples in, so they are shorter. It's also difficult to open my eyes because they are so much tighter. My eyes are also glassier and just look weird. So this never goes away or gets any better?!

I'm afraid I can't tell you that. I'm only about 3 weeks out. I do notice a slight "downward" pull on the lower eyelid -- the area just above my cheekbone was treated and a think the pull is coming from that area starting to tighten. My upper lids actually show some improvement -- the only area on my face that does. I have that weird look too. Not stoned just weird. Lots of us have commented on it. No, although you will continue to age, the effects of Ultherapy are non-reversable. In fact you will continue to see these kinds of changes for up to 6 months post. I am so sorry. I'm in the same boat. Pursuing a facelift now.

Also, just to note, I think there are people pursuing a class action lawsuit. There was certainly a lack of disclosure in my case -- and I think many of us feel the same. We could not adequately assess the risks of the procedure.

You received MORE laxity?:/
How high did the operator have the machine and was it hurting a lot?
August 31, 2015
Let me clarify. There has been some tightening overall but marionette lines and "turkey-neck" are more pronounced. There is dimpling at corners of my mouth that didn't used to be there. The loose skin beneath my neck does not hang as low but is definitely more pronounced -- more "band-y" with strange hollow spots that didn't used to be there. I believe I have lost some facial volume during the procedure and that has caused the look of loose or sagging skin that was previously taken up with facial fat or the small amount of chin-fat I had. Not sure if at this point it's going to get worse or better as time goes on. Yes it hurt -- but I have a fairly low tolerance. Settings varied -- the operator changed transducers depending on the area treated. I do have confidence in the technician. I think she knows her job and the machine. That said, I'm disappointed she wasn't more knowledgeable about the fat / volume loss that many people experience. She said it absolutely would not happen. I'm proof that it does.

Are you able to post some before/after photos please?
Im considering Ulthera but this sounds concerning.

Hi. You know I think I am not going to post pix because I'd rather remain anonymous, :) but here's my verdict to date. 4 weeks out is better than 2 weeks out. Beginning to experience some tightening which has mitigated some of the effects of the volume loss. To be clear, I didn't lose a lot of facial volume but enough to notice that my face looks thinner. Good to be aware that many people do say they get comments like: Oh, did you lose weight? Some people report actually looking older. I had filler put in at the same time and I think that helped as well my face not "fall" as much from the volume loss. Would I do this again? Probably not. I noticed some benefits but also some things I didn't like. The mixed results were not worth the money I paid. In retrospect, I would have been better off to have saved for a facelift. Hope that helps you. Best of luck to you.

I look older than before Ultherapy. No question about it. Total waste of money.

I'm so sorry this happened to you. It did to me as well, and seems to in a small percentage of patients. I wish they could isolate why, and therefore advise those prone to adverse results against having this treatment ... but I suppose it's not in the Company's (or Doctor's) financial interests to do so. That just translates to us all understanding the risks BEFORE we embark on treatment, and knowing whether we can live with them.

Getting worse

Valleyford
Not going to post pix. But definitely looking worse now at 2 months out. The small lift I got at about 2-3 weeks out has subsided and the lost facial volume has caused more laxity, more dimpling and more significant jowling. If you are researching a "worth it" review, make a note of how long after the procedure that review was posted. If people are posting in that "honeymoon" phase of 2 weeks out, they have not yet experience the fallen face look that so many of us experience at 2 months.

Don't do this.

You are absolutely not alone. I'm so sorry you are one of us though. You're right, this was awful. Juvaderm helped. Facelift as soon as I can afford it. What's SO hard is that I was told specifically that Ultheraphy does not cause volume loss. Absolutely assured. And of course it does... as your pictures prove. You may be one of the few of us who could actually bring a successful law suit, because your pictures definitely show volume loss.

Hi, has it gotten better? I hope you have had some improvement. I am searching this web Looking for a fix!
