So from July 12 to August 2nd these are your results on spiro?! That’s amazing, I’m happy for you & also shocked by how quick
Wow, your results are amazing! What's your treatment regimen now? Are you still taking the spiro?

Almost 30 days in

2 week later update , I’m also using a hyloronic acid serum as a moisturizer and a lightening soap. I’ve stopped using Spironolactone for the last 3 days as I felt like I was stil breaking out with cystic acne and even worst than before. Wanted to give my body a break from the drug to see if I see results

The same thing happened with me! I've been on and off the drug for a little over 2 years. When I used it consistently, taking 50 mg 2x daily, I think it did really work. (I think I stopped taking it when my skin started to finally flourish, or maybe I got lazy, I don't remember...) But I feel like my skin always gets worst first, then better on Spironolactone. I'm back on it again at a higher dosage (100 mg 2x daily). I had one recurring cystic pimple on my jaw, and after 2 or so weeks of consistently taking the pills, I have had more pop up on my jaw line and still have regular acne on my face. I'll continue to be more consistent with it this time around, because I'm eager to get rid of my acne and I do truly believe it helped my skin tremendously last time, although there is no way to no for sure. During that time frame I also significantly lowered my dairy intake, which is known to play a role in hormonal acne. I'm also taking Tazorac and something to treat dermatitis, but how is the lightening soap working for you? I have tons of dark spots.
That soap is called Koji white lightening soap and I ordered it on amazon. Look up the reviews and if you decide to order give em a update I’ve only been using for about 4 days and I see the difference no new pimples at all my skin is very tight and bright . I’m also using a hyaluronic acid serum with it
Thanks

Day 4

It’s been 4 days since I’ve been taking both the Spironolactone and tretinion gel nightly. Haven’t seen much improvement but I can say I have not received a new bump and the old ones are drying out . I just have to figure out what to do about these horrible dark marks/ scars that they are leaving behind :/ I enclosed new pics below.

I’ve been on spiro and doxycycline for about 2 months now. I still have cystic breakouts on my jawline and occasionally on my cheeks. But I’m beginning to think it’s starting to really work. (Cross your fingers cause every time I think that it persists lol) I have noticed that if I do get a pimple it forms a head and heals a lot quicker than before. But the hyperpigmentation from old stuff is really frustrating because it even if I have no active spots it still looks like I have so many. I read online good exfoliation and peel methods cause that’s what will rid the layers of damage so new can form. I came across the Dr. Dennis Gross peel pads. They had high reviews but are pretty pricey. I had a gift card so I tried a 30 pack of the extra strength version and fell in love. I really think they have made a big difference with my hyperpigmentation as well as helping existing pimples. I ended up buying a second month because I liked them so much. You can cut them in half to get more uses. I use one at night and then use a serum and eye cream. I know they are expensive but compared to how much I’ve spent on useless products, dr. Appointments and what I would spend at a derma spa for a peel or treatment they are more that worth it. You can get a trial pack of 5 for like $18 at Sephora. I know the frustration of getting rid of active spots but still feeling awful because of what’s left behind. Thought I’d share what’s worked well for me & send good vibes your way for healing:)
Thank you for your reply and the good vibes I really appreciate it. I haven’t seen to much improvement although I can say my new break outs are healing faster luckily :) . Have you had any side effects with the Spironolactone? And are you using any thing else to lighten the skin any bleaching creams and or aids ?
So I started bactrim and sprio about 18 days ago . Stopped bactrim 15 days in when my dermatitis started to flare up. I dont know if its the bactrim or not but im still on the spiro and its been almost a month. Its doing SOMETHING! its drying out the old acne and its flat everywhere but kinda scalish and drying out. girl my self esteem was plummenting - my story sounds just like yours girl -except my daughter will be 3 in dec - my problem didnt start til she was about 1.5.
I’m glad it’s working for you, thank you for sharing. Do you have any hyperpigmentation and if so are you using anything for it?
Girl nah now im just trying to keep my damn hands oUTmy face and let the meds do their thing. I used yo derm after 2 failed real life derm visits. So far this is the only prescription that helped
That’s dope!! I’m just trying to rid these spots on my face .. did your skin purge the first couple weeks ??
It feel like ita clearing up but then again I still have tiny little bumps on my jaw line
How’s your results now and how long have you been on meds, I currently stopped for a few days I felt like I seen no progress and it was making it worst
I still have e teeny bumps. But after I stopped bactrim for 2 days I restarted. It's been 3 days shy of a month now. I have like 3 doses a piece each still left. Then I'll start 2nd month. In this first month my skin is almost completely clear. The spot where the bumps all started us down. To a pinky sized cluster. I wore make up for the first time n weeks yesterday and the bumps had flattened out so much u actually couldn't tell!!!! Finalllllly. So it's working by stopping new pimples from forming and flattening oit the existing ones. He also gave me a topical - sulfa sodium - something like that for use 1nce a day and told me only to use cetaphil. I use tgel to watch my hair every week for the dermatitis. The teeny tiny bumps are moving to flatten completely out too. BY next week my skin will be clearer than it has all year. I literally see Improvement everyday Bactrim - twice a day Spiro - 100mg once a day Topical - once or twice a day Cetaphil - morning and night and a layer throughout the day Vaseline to lick in moisture every now and then of my face gets too dry I'll send pics n inbox if ud like
OK I did Spiro and bactrim 14 days straight. The improvement was crazy. I have pics I'll make a blog later maybe. I stopped the bactrim for three days cause I had a dermatitis flare up - ketoconazole shampoo got me back right - started bactrim aging yesterday. It's like I didn't miss a beat. I AM however planning to start BC by month 3. I'll discuss it more with the doc at the 2 month follow up. Right now tho - I'm Hella satisfied this [RS bleep] had been a nightmare
