Spironolactone for acne
I’ve had acne for the last 5 years and it’s just recently gotten worse in the last year or two. i’ve been prescribed clindamycin phosphate gel, epiduo, minocycline and ive tried just about every over the counter products, from face washes to face masks and different pimple creams. after trying everything i felt really defeated and at a loss. so i just decided to go back to the basics and just use a simple face wash so i bought cetaphil. i also found witch hazel and decided to try that. i used cetaphil 2x a day and used the witch hazel 3x a day. the witch hazel REALLY helped with redness and irritation and it cleared o my acne actually pretty well but i still wasn’t happy with my skin so a week ago i went to the doctors and got prescribed 50mg of spironolactone and take one tablet everyday at night. i was also prescribed the clindamycin solution. it’s kinda weird it has alcohol in it which kind of burns your skin for a second when you first put it on but nothing bad. and lastly i was prescribed tretinoin 0.05% cream. i’ve been on spironolactone and the clindamycin solution for exactly one week and two days and i’m going to start the tretinoin cream tonight. if anyone has any tips for using the tretinoin cream it’d be gladly appreciated. i’m not sure whether i should use a moisturizer first and then apply the cream or apply the cream and then moisturizer. i just want to find the best results without all the burning, itching and flaking.
