Scar changing

Just a little update on my scar healing. It's still swollen and pretty solid above the scar line but I've been massaging it twice a day. It's changed over the last 4 weeks and am hoping once the swelling has all gone, it'll look more symmetrical. But even if it doesn't, I still love it!

3 weeks post op and I'm straight!

Hooray! I'm able to stand up straight at last. I'm not sleeping great but I put that down to my 11yr old mattress!!! The interesting thing is that I've totally lost my appetite! I'm just not hungry. So I've been keeping my healthy smoothies going packed with greens and fruits and vegan protein. I love these. I'm eating a healthy meal in the evening too which I've made it compulsory to do or I may not heal properly.

I also have stopped freaking out massaging my scar and haven't felt faint doing it for about 5 days! Hooray!! I'm pleased with the healing although the scar is wonkey but I'm sure when it turns white in about a year I just won't notice. I LOVE MY STOMACH so much I feel so beautiful, amazing and confident. In clothes I can wear my gorgeous outfits and not have to "tuck myself in" to them. This is a blessing.

I have an eye for perfection and I stare at my stomach and spot the imperfections, but as my mum said- "you're not an object, you're a human, living, moving and breathing - nobody is perfect" She's totally right.

I keep reminding what I was like prior to my op and the years of low self esteem it caused. That has completely been replaced with real joy now when I look in the mirror. This is the best decision I've made in a long time to have this op! I love my body and I love my life.

Positivity helps speed up the healing process so TOP TIP: never regret anything you've done, be grateful for you, and remember you're beautiful every day.
Big kisses to you all xxxx

Dressing is off!

Omg I had to change my dressing the other day and I nearly fainted, so today taking my own dressing off and leaving it off had to be executed with a plan!
I lay on my bed, pulled my t-shirt over it so I couldn't see it, and just did it blind!! I then lay there playing on my phone to take my mind off it for 10 minutes. I then looked down to see it from the flat angle. Remained there another 10 minutes. And finally got up and looked in the mirror, took a quick photo before lying back down.
I'm now sat with my Spanx on and feeling ok! I managed to get them on without touching the incision and without looking!!!
I did it without fainting! Thank goodness. What a mission that was.
I'm swollen under my belly button and numb. The incision is very thin and not wholly symmetrical but I can cope with that as it's so much better than what I had previously!

I love Ms Hazari. A fantastic woman, passionate about her work and very highly regarded by her colleagues and friends. During the pre op appointments she explained everything so clearly and answered all my questions empathically. Her bedside manner is 100% and I would wholeheartedly recommend her expertise for any type of surgery. Her website is comprehensive and so informative which is exactly what you want to be able to access when choosing a surgeon. All her fabulous reports are on there too which shows she is one of the best in the UK.
