32yrs Old Rhinoplasty - Spire Hospital Cardiff - United Kingdom

I have wanted a rhinoplasty since my late teens. Due to my nose being asymmetrical with a bulbous tip I looked completely different in photos depending what angle it was taken from. After years of consciously sitting, having conversations and having photos on my 'good side' I decided enough was enough. Plus, when I was younger my plumper face distracted from the nose but entering my thirties I noticed my nose appeared much more prominent. It was ruling my life and I just felt so hideous, It got to the point where I would take photos of my front and 'bad' side, then spend hours studying and getting upset by them. I began researching rhinoplasty surgery and what to look for in a surgeon and found Mr Huw Williams (currently practising at the Spire Hospital Cardiff) who ticked all the boxes. I booked an appointment last May and felt immediately at ease. He explained everything in detail without any jargon and told me that a natural looking result ( basically, being realistic in my expectations and taking into consideration the rest of my face) plus, airflow/ structures within the nose are of paramount importance. This reassured me so I went away to think about it. After months of weighing everything up I decided to go back January of this year for another consultation and booked the procedure for March. I am currently 9 days post op, had the cast taken off yesterday and am thrilled. I honestly am so happy that I feel like a different person. Despite the obvious swelling I can see the results already. My bad side no longer exists! I still look like me but better, definitely more photogenic and my nose isn't tiny, it just normal and blends well into my face, exactly what I wanted. I did a lot of swelling on the columella which he will check in 2 weeks but is confident that will right itself. It's already looking much better. Everyone who cared for me during my time in the hospital(overnight stay) were fantastic. It was so quick and trouble free. I had no post op pain, just a little discomfort from the blood and mucous in nose but that clears after a few days. The cast is probably the worst thing, mine itched like mad. I would say that it is really important to rest as much as possible during first week. I feel it's really aided my recovery. Overall, I highly recommend this surgeon and all the team. Best decision ever!
