Originally I wanted a tummy tuck but I saw the special for the mommy makeover and decided to get a tummy tuck and breast augmentation at the same time. My surgery went as expected. All I remember is being in a wheel chair afterwards. I was never really in pain. My headaches hurt more than recovering from my surgery. I was more uncomfortable than anything. Everyone is different but I was up walking around that same day. I only took my pain meds the 2nd and 3rd day after surgery then I switched to extra strength Tylenol if I needed to. Getting out of bed took some time because everything is so tight. The absolutely worst thing you can do is sneeze. Felt like I died for a few minutes. I also started eating fish and chicken by the third day to get my strength up. I had my last check up 5 days later and the Dr felt that is was best for my drainage tubes to stay in. He did explain to me that because I was an out of town patient no doctor would take my drainage tubes out. He was right. My PCP wouldn't, the general surgeon my PCP referred me to wouldn't, urgent care wouldn't and the Dr at my local ER wouldn't take them out stating it was a liability issue with taking out drains another surgeon had put in. Thankfully Dr. Ortega explained to me how to take my drains out and even drew a diagram. I was beyond scared to take them out myself but it was actually pretty easy. I went back to work the next week but I do take it easy. So far I've had a pretty good recovery. I would recommend Dr. Ortega to anyone that is willing to travel.

Hi, I would love to see your pictures of how you're healing. I'm considering doctors right now and Dr. Mel Ortega is one of them. I would appreciate it greatly if you can post before and after pictures. Thank you so much!!!
Im planning to book my TT for Nov. Thankfully my PCP said he would take out the drains if needs be...i can't wait to see a different me but its pretty scary waiting for the unexpected
Congratulations on your successful surgery, and for getting the results you were hoping for. It sounds like your post-op healing is going well, other than the drain issue. Please keep us posted on your progress!
Thank you for sharing, may I ask what day did you return back to work? Trying to guage if 8 days is enough, I sit all day..
