WORTH IT$7,500
Originally I wanted a tummy tuck but I saw the special for the mommy makeover and decided to get a tummy tuck and breast augmentation at the same time. My surgery went as expected. All I remember is being in a wheel chair afterwards. I was never really in pain. My headaches hurt more than recovering from my surgery. I was more uncomfortable than anything. Everyone is different but I was up walking around that same day. I only took my pain meds the 2nd and 3rd day after surgery then I switched to extra strength Tylenol if I needed to. Getting out of bed took some time because everything is so tight. The absolutely worst thing you can do is sneeze. Felt like I died for a few minutes. I also started eating fish and chicken by the third day to get my strength up. I had my last check up 5 days later and the Dr felt that is was best for my drainage tubes to stay in. He did explain to me that because I was an out of town patient no doctor would take my drainage tubes out. He was right. My PCP wouldn't, the general surgeon my PCP referred me to wouldn't, urgent care wouldn't and the Dr at my local ER wouldn't take them out stating it was a liability issue with taking out drains another surgeon had put in. Thankfully Dr. Ortega explained to me how to take my drains out and even drew a diagram. I was beyond scared to take them out myself but it was actually pretty easy. I went back to work the next week but I do take it easy. So far I've had a pretty good recovery. I would recommend Dr. Ortega to anyone that is willing to travel.

I liked Dr. Ortega because I really didn't know what to expect since I was from out of town and I have never seen him before. I meet him the day of my surgery and he was very professional and explained everything to me about the surgery in great detail. I was originally suppose to have a breast lift but after examining me I was told I didn't need it and I was due a refund for that particular procedure. I really appreciated the fact that he cared more about my health and recovery than pocketing extra money for a procedure I didn't need. The anesthesiologist was very nice and professional as well. A few days later I meet with the massage therapist Yazna. She is such a character and a sweet heart. I could tell she really loves her job. My absolute favorite person in the office was my nurse Kathy. She was there from day one. She was so nice and patient even though she had a million things to do. My surgical coordinator was Liz. I never meet her, the only correspondence we had was through email and I may have talked to her once on the phone. Anytime I had a question she was prompt with a response. Even though she was prompt she gave very basic responses. She would literally answer my question with a simple yes/no or with a one/two sentence response. Never really explained anything. Overall I really loved the professionalism of Dr. Ortega and his staff.

Hi, I would love to see your pictures of how you're healing. I'm considering doctors right now and Dr. Mel Ortega is one of them. I would appreciate it greatly if you can post before and after pictures. Thank you so much!!!
Im planning to book my TT for Nov. Thankfully my PCP said he would take out the drains if needs be...i can't wait to see a different me but its pretty scary waiting for the unexpected

Congratulations on your successful surgery, and for getting the results you were hoping for. It sounds like your post-op healing is going well, other than the drain issue. Please keep us posted on your progress!

Thank you for sharing, may I ask what day did you return back to work? Trying to guage if 8 days is enough, I sit all day..
