In the last 10 years, my weight has fluctuated...
WORTH IT$12,000
In the last 10 years, my weight has fluctuated from 150 to 170 (depression), down to 125 (body building / figure competitions), and back to a fit 150 with CrossFit and a healthy lifestyle. (I'm 5'6".) The weight fluctuations took a toll on my breasts - I was saggy and asymmetrical. I saw plenty of friends and other CrossFitters my age with lovely, full breasts, so I bit the bullet this summer and started looking into their doctors and scheduling consultations.
My first consultation with another surgeon went well. I REALLY liked him. He spent more than enough time with my husband and me, explaining what he saw and what I needed. I was almost ready to sign myself up...but he was pretty insistent on doing two procedures: doing the breast lift, then 6-8 weeks of healing and recovery, then the augmentation, and 6-8 more weeks of recovery. He was confident that this approach would bring about the absolute best results because doing both the lift and the implants at once would defy physics - tightening breast tissue but simultaneously pushing against it with an implant. It made sense. But how could my breasts be THAT bad? I haven't had my own kids or breastfed like many women with similar sag, they had both procedures in one.... I left disappointed and more insecure about my boobs more than ever after that. I even felt guilty for not wanting to put that much time and effort into reconstructing my boobs correctly. Surely I could do the lift and augmentation in one procedure. So although I really liked this doctor, I sought a second opinion: Dr. Orseck's.
