Hello bbl-lovers and aficionados! : )
I'm six weeks post op and have only recently discovered this forum. Thought I'd add a review to the realself database for anyone interested, and perhaps specifically for those who may be in the same situation I was in five months ago.
At that time, I had started to seriously consider having a bbl. First on the agenda was to find a doctor with plenty of experience and expertise, preferably in Europe, as that's where I'm based. My research led me to Dr Aslani at the Cirumed Clinic. I wanted to be absolutely certain that he was the right doctor for me, so I traveled to Spain to meet him in person. The consultation went well, Dr Aslani answered all my questions thoroughly. I liked his level-headed approach and was impressed by the obvious delight and pride he showed in his work. Clearly a man passionate about his profession, involved in the academic/educational field as well. He told me I'd be a good candidate for a bbl. I didn't have a lot of extra fat, but enough to create more fullness and the heart shape I desired.
One month later, it was time for surgery. I was so happy that morning and felt unusually calm. Deeper inside, I was probably quite scared. I think most people about to have major surgery are. Seeing Dr Aslani in the operating room helped a lot, he emanated strength and total focus on the task at hand. I had put a lot of trust in him, and felt confident that he would honor that trust. I knew I was in good and capable hands.
After what seemed like just a moment, I woke up. Everything had gone well, about 2000 cc of fat had been extracted and Dr Aslani had used as much of that as he could. When I got back to my room I took a look at myself in the bathroom mirror. What I saw amazed me - a beautifully shaped butt combined with a tiny waist and shapely hips. Like a sculpture!
Dr Aslani came by later that evening to check on me. His wonderful assistants, Jenny and Jeannine, also visited. Supportive as ever, full of good advice. The whole team is genuinely caring and highly competent. The next morning, I walked the short distance back to my hotel. It was very conveniently located, right in between the Cirumed Clinic and the Quiron Hospital - a five minute walk in each direction.
My room had ocean view, it was spacious, breezy and impeccably clean. The floors were made of hardwood and the bed had wheels, so I could easily move it around, closer to the balcony, in and out of the sunlight. Being surrounded by comfort and beauty cheered me up during the first couple of days when I felt miserable. The night at the hospital had been easy, but the second night was awful. I never had any pain, but a lot of discomfort and the feeling of pressure. It was hard to get in and out of bed, hard to sleep. I was swollen in all the wrong places and pale as a sheet as I shuffled around the room, muttering to myself ''This is not for whimps!'' It was a good thing I had caught a glimpse of something lovely in the mirror the previous day - it was something positive to hold on to during that long night, when I looked and felt more like the Michelin Man than a sculpture.
The next day, I was already better. I rested, drank lots of water and ate delicious health food. Read and listened to music. Took short morning and evening walks along the beach. I felt stronger each day, each week, and after one month I was fully recovered.
So was it worth it? Oh, yes. It was worth every drop of blood, sweat and tear. It's been a very rewarding experience, an adventure. This morning I took measurements of my waist and hips, and divided the numbers. The ratio is 0.7 - 0.737, to be exact. That is considered the perfect hip to waist ratio. It's a very satisfying feeling. I used to think my shoulders were a bit too broad, and I would have preferred my breasts to be one cup size smaller. But now, after the bbl, my whole body looks proportionate. Everything has fallen into place. I recommend a bbl to anyone who thinks it would enhance their physiques and quality of life. It really does!
P.S. I will try to add some pictures when I've summoned up the courage. : )

The one pic you put up is great...a perfect shaped butt.
From your review it sounds like you stayed in a hotel? I'm asking as I'm going to DR from the Uk and want to stay in a hotel by the sea not stuck in a recovery house! I have had a tummy tuck and didnt require a recovery house, so is the pain of a bbl so bad that I will require the services of carers? Lol...I hope its a positive answer!!

Hi Emmalita, thanks so much : ) Yes I did stay in a hotel and I recommend it. It sounds like you would also do well (perhaps even better) in that kind of setting. However, the first night at the hotel (second night after surgery) was very difficult. After that, I was fine on my own. If you can, you may want to stay two nights at the clinic/hospital, for extra help and supervision.

Will look forward to your progress on here and hope for you a swift recovery. Thanks hun.

That sounds like a good idea, I think you'll be a lot more at ease in a hotel. I wish you all the best, and a lot of fun, on your bbl journey!
