another thing thats helpful
I found an app for my android phone called medica reminders. Very helpful in tracking the meds I need to take. It allows you to set intervals for each med (e.g. valium every 6 hours) so I don't miss a dose or take too many because I don't remember when I last took something. Its a very helpful app.

I lost 100 lbs 5 yrs ago. I've maintained it but still felt "fat" because of the extra skin so I decideded to fix it. I had a lower body lift, implants and Lipo. Best thing I did besides vgs. This is what I did to prep and it really helped me. Of course check with your doc. Keep in mind I've had 9 other types of surgeries so I might be better versed in what to expect in regards to pain management and after affects.. Also, i did NOT have any muscle repair done on my abdomen. I never had kids so I didn't need it.
1. Really built up my.quads; that way I could squat if necessary vs bending. I was at the gym everyday for a month before surgery.
2.Got this grabber thing that is awesome for picking up.things you drop, like your phone.
3. Built up my forearms and biceps. Again, using those for power instead of chest muscles when getting on or off the bed or chairs.
4. Got a bed wedge and half moon pillow for my knees
5. Installed a raised toliet seat. My toilet is chair height but I'm almost 6 ft tall so it really helped. Put rubber bumpers on the plastic part of the raised seat that rests on the porcelain bowl, the kind that are used for feet on dvrs, etc. This will keep it from sliding on the bowl.
6. Because of my sleeve I only get about 600 cal a day and you need at least 1200 to heal, so I got boost Very high calorie drinks. 510 cal in an 8 oz box.found them on Amazon and they taste pretty good.
7. I got bariwise protein tea concentrate and click protein coffee. The tea tastes better if you hide it in another tea drink. Coffee is good on its own.
8. Sometimes I get intense pulling burning pain along my hipbone when I move. At first in thought I ripped some stitches but it was actually the skin about 1/2 inch above the stitches. I'm not gonna lie-it's INTENSE. But it's not all the time..the more I can use my quads and forearms for power, the less it hurts. I get random pain in places because of all the work I had done but I power through it.
9. I started meditating about a month before surgery. It might sound weird but it really has helped with pain management and healing.
I'm only on day 3 post surgery so it could still get worse especially as I cut back on the drugs. But I took a shower yesterday and can't believe how much better I look already! My doctor removed 9 lbs of skin!!
I hope this helps others!

Dr Bogdan is awesome! And I have very high expectations of my doctors. He is very thorough, explains things very well and his primary concern is the patient. He even called me while on vacation. I would highly recommend him.
