I had been contemplating for many years getting a nose job, probably since I was 12. I have always been self conscious of my side profile and taking pictures was always stressful! When I got engaged I felt there was no better time, so now I have 10 months before I get married to sit and wait patiently for results... I'm excited!
I chose Dr. Rival based on reviews, recommendations and last but not least our consultation went really well.
The day of my surgery the staff at the hospital were all so friendly and kept me in good spirits, wasn't even nervous anymore just anxious to get it done and await my new nose and new confidence!
So here is my journey to a beautiful nose so that I can look just as beautiful and confident on my wedding day, marrying the man I love.

I'm so excited to see your journey unfold! So far, your nose looks very nice. Thank you for sharing photos, would you be able to add before shot of your front view?

Hi Eva, thank you. Will do!

He did a great job, even with the swelling it's so small already!

Thank you... I think there is still a long way to go, the tip is mostly swollen which is normal especially since I had open rhino and septo and my tip had to be shortened ... I'll update some new pics in a few days as it's already gotten much better. :)

Excited to see your progress! :) I had the same (rhino/septo) with him 2 months ago. Def seems like we get more swelling with open rhino -_- did he tell you what to expect in terms of it refining? I'm seeing him for a check up finally soon

To tell you the truth I didn't ask, I figured it would look something like the digital picture we made together or close to it... I will however ask at my 6 week appointment. I think the initial shock of getting your cast off makes your brain run wild and I needed time to process and then ask questions. Open rhino definitely has more swelling...how is yours settling? Are you happy?

Haha same... I didn't realize the first two weeks I'd have a lawn gnome nose :p. 3/4th week I def started seeing improvements. It seems like it'll stay that way forever but it really changes all of a sudden! After 1 month the changes are slower, but they happen on and off. Some days I hate it, but when I watch my salt all of a sudden I love it. I never regret though, just maybe wish I asked more questions.

I had a hump still after the cast went off and that's the only thing that I'm not super happy about.. but it does go up and down like they said. So we'll see. It's def an emotional journey but never get discouraged and always focus on what you DO like during a bad day. Your nose already looks beautiful so it's just a waiting game.

How do you find yours compared to the images he provided?

I have literally been calling myself Avatar, or shrek lol especially b/c my upper lip is swollen and I can't move it!!! I can't wait to laugh again without struggle lol .... I think waiting is hard, I don't think we can ever mentally prepare ourselves even though we know before hand it's not going to be what it looks like now. I think I cried 2 whole days bc I was so shocked at how different I looked, wasn't sure who was in the mirror... so emotional :/ I feel better now that I'm back at work, helps to get your mind off of the process and you can't look in the mirror every 5 seconds to see if the swelling is down and your nose looks cute lol He did tell me that the bump I had could return but never how it was ... this is something that I'm hoping doesn't happen but it very well could. Your bump might be bc it's not settled yet and is swollen. Ask him when you see him, in pretty confident with him, i know you are going to love your nose eventually and I will too! Did you ever post pictures? It really helps to have ppl give you advice and support. Others that have been through this can help us get through the 12 months of healing :) I'm sure you look beautiful, we are our own worst critic! What we see others don't!
November 17, 2016
Haha aww :( yeah I can relate to shrek face. I felt so prepared but I guess you still don't expect it as much :p you're almost through the worst part of the swelling!

I wanted to post, but due to my job and how the results have been so far Ive been a bit hesitant. Maybe I'll see how I feel after I see him and post something. There really aren't many pics from his patients. You're right though, its really nice being able to talk to someone about it, especially a patient of the same dr. :)

For sure! And with respect to pictures, not everyone will post, many people feel embarrassed in the beginning so most will post after there 6 month to year results when they are sure it's gone well and are happy with results. Feel free to ever reach out and i hope that your follow up goes well, I'm almost certain that all our worries are due to swelling!

The swelling has gone down significantly since my last update....everyday seems to get better. I'm still unable to smile with teeth but that shouldn't take too much longer! I am really happy with how things are progressing. The tip is still swollen and rounded and a bit more so on the right, but I have high hopes that in a few months my nose will have more definition. I feel more like myself going into the third week, and not so much an avatar!
