I have good and bad days, but overall I am really happy with the progress. Looking forward to my 1 year mark :)

When you say you have bad days, what caused that? Do you mean with swelling or how you feel about your results? Your new nose looks beautiful!!

Thank you Stella! At this point yes it's all about swelling! It can be a bit uncomfortable at times and also can really alter the shape of your nose on the "puffy" days. I had a follow up recently and Dr. rival says it's very normal at this stage and takes a year or more for absolute swelling to go down. But from just 3 to 4 months I saw a significant difference... I hope it continues to slim out and become more defined. I can honestly say I am really really happy I took this step :) regardless it's better than before, even if it isn't the most perfect nose yet!

That's great to hear! I'm 3 weeks out from my surgery and my nose is similar to yours before. I hope my results are as beautiful. Congratulations for taking the step!

Oh wow okay yeah I guess it's similar where one side looks uneven. Do you have just swelling that makes it look uneven, or do you ever have a bit of bone that comes out with swelling and feels hard to the touch?
I am seeing him in a couple of weeks thankfully. I don't live near so I unfortunately can't see him as often as I'd like. I'm very curious to see what he'll say, esp since when I went to see him at the 2 month mark everything was looking good and no revision was in sight.
Thanks for sharing this, it makes me feel a lot better. I felt like I must be the only one that gets more swollen days than not, but I don't feel so alone now :)

Hello! So I'm also another patient of the Dr and reaching almost 1 week post op, I have to ask when the cast came off how different was that result from now for you?

I hope you are recovering well!!! The first week was hard! Getting the cast off was the biggest shock and yes totally different from them and now! Much more defined and the bridge is nice and narrow... I'm excited for you!!! I hope it's all you expected it to be .... I still have tough days with swelling but I can't wait for the 12 year mark. You are in good hands, Dr Rival really cares. My breathing is 100% and I'm much more confident now and I'm only half way done recovering ... 6 months today

Ahhh thank you for the well wishes! I'm happy to hear you are liking your results :) I saw your pictures and it looks beautiful! I actually had my cast off today and wow it was surprising but in a good way, it's amazing how small changes can have a huge impact on how you perceive yourself so I def know what you mean there. I think it does help though in general to not stay in your thoughts too much and be glued to a mirror--I was doing that even before cast was off and psyching myself out for no reason lol but its really nice to be able to connect with another patient! <3

1 month post op :)

I wanted to post some updated pictures of my month progress. Last week I had a lot of swelling, I think it's because of the cold weather and going from hot to cold temperatures! I am very happy about the changes and can honestly say that I should have done this a long time ago. I know some people have less swelling by now but bc mine was open it will take longer to heal. I am still working on getting my smile back but it's on it's way, I think a few more weeks I can show my pearly whites again :D

Almost 3 weeks post op

The swelling has gone down significantly since my last update....everyday seems to get better. I'm still unable to smile with teeth but that shouldn't take too much longer! I am really happy with how things are progressing. The tip is still swollen and rounded and a bit more so on the right, but I have high hopes that in a few months my nose will have more definition. I feel more like myself going into the third week, and not so much an avatar!

I'm still quite happy I did it, I'm just a bit exhausted from how much it changes and not getting the best communication from his office... It's frustrating to not have support and know whether what is happening is normal or not. Basically when I'm stressed, the hump goes WAY UP, the side bump goes up too and ugh it's pretty bad. But at the 6 month mark literally the night before it was cute and actually kind of small. I just don't get how I can have a couple of good days, then rest of the month it's big and bumpy again. :( I'm sure it won't be so bad in a year, just yeah not super even and perfect I guess heh
I will try to PM pics soon... -_-
