This has definitely been a journey and next week will be one year post-op! I am so happy that I've done this, I feel more confident. My Dr also told me that people would treat me better, it's true! Smh at our society.

Update
9 months post-op! in July I had to get a dog ear removed and later a keloid from the same site. I am recovering well, although I still find it hard to sit for long periods of time or move as fast as I used to. My stomach is still hard at the top and I have to remember to massage it, which I sometimes forget. Overall, this was the best thing that I've ever done! I am so happy with my new figure, I am confident, secure and bold.

Hi, I just had miner do e a few weeks ago, what is the massage for? my dr hasn't mentioned it, how soon after surgery can I do it n is there some special type of massage?

Hello, you'll be instructed by your Dr to massage the upper part of your abdomen after they're satisfied that the incision has closed. The upper part tends to be hard because the muscles are still swollen

Hello, you look amazing. Congrats on your weightloss! I wanted to ask if you just had a panniculectomy or a full Tummy Tuck. I am waiting for approval for the panniculectomy and is nervous that I will not be satisfied with the results. You have the best I've seen so far. Thanks for sharing.

New Life
I am so pleased with the results from my surgery!! I have been looking for form fitting dresses to wear to my class reunion as well as my Family Reunion. I still have some swelling in my upper abdomen which I massage daily and I've began using the scar cream to help with the itching and to fade the scar.

Hello, I began to experience some itching around my scar line so she precribed the cream instead of the gel strips. It apperars that the gel strips work better, but we'll see

You look amazing ! I had my procedure done May 29, 2013 and went back to work in 2 and a half weeks. ( cause the Short term disability review nurse said it was cosmetic even though my surgeon wrote it up as medically needed and my insurance company approved it as needed) so I'm fighting them right now so they don't take my pay back from the day of surgery til June 17. Grrrr. Other than that, I think all went well. My surgeon Dr. David Schumacher at Kettering Bariatrics is awesome. I lost 160 lbs from July 20, 2011 through December 2012. Kept it off and went for the skin removal and lipo and muscle tightening. I'm going to be 50 in August but I definitely don't look that old and don't feel that old since I have a new body. Can't wait to get my arms done to get rid of my bat wings. Lol. Anyway, thank you for sharing your story and pics. Like you.. I have become a shopping fiend. Can't wait to get rid of the compression garments though :). Good Luck to all who come after us with this life altering decision. It's gonna be worth it, I promise!!

omg i love your results. we have a similar body structure. i have lost 60 pounds and 18 pounds away from my target, but the stomach is horrifying. you look amazing and i hope i can find a doctor in my area that can give me the same results
