I am a 52 year old woman who had a mommy makeover December 2014 and was never happy with my breast augmentation results. My goal at that time was to have fuller breasts, not larger breasts. I have always felt my augmented breasts were to large, made me look heavier and are very uncomfortable. I am very self conscious of my breasts and always tryto minimize them. They are uncomfortable with exercising and sleeping. I knew I wanted the implants removed and began the journey of consultations again. I had begun seeing some reviews on fat transfer on this site so scheduled a consult with Dr. Miriam Awada. Dr. Awada understood my concerns, understood the look I wanted and offered the explant, lift, liposuction with fat transfer to the breasts. Fat will be transferred from flanks, axilla, back and a touch up my abdomen (post abdominoplasty).Dr. Awada assured me that the fat is for enhancing the upper pole of the breasts giving them the fuller look that I am looking for. My goal is for smaller but fuller breasts. I was a full B or small C before all of this started and be very happy with that size again. I wish that had been an option 3 years ago as opposed to implants. I was never interested in liposuction before, but this is just an added bonus to this transition. I am so excited about the implant removal but very nervous about the liposuction. However, I have read good reviews from posts on this site about liposuction and feel reassured with my surgeon.

Surgery Day
The morning of surgery. I am looking forward to removing the implants and all of the discomfort associated with them. I am also very curious to see the results of the lift with fat transfer and feeling this is the look that I always wanted. Fat will be removed from my back, flanks and abdomen...looking forward to those results as well.

A little sore. Not gonna lie. The areas where the lipo was done are more sore than I expected. I took some pain medicine but really don’t enjoy taking it. How about you? I’m just lying in bed watching shows I haven’t seen in years. I have to go back to work on Monday so taking it real easy this weekend.

Oh I know... the Lipo areas very sore. I’ve been taking the pains meds around the clock. Hopefully wil can decrease to plain Tylenol tomorrow as I don’t like the brain fog. Like you , I’ve been my recliner sleeping on off and watching tv. You are back to work Monday. I took next week off as I drive most of day and remember how difficult to turn head.

Are you taking any supplements recommended to help with the retention of the fat transfer?

Your implants look so natural though! I like your boobs. They look really natural. I wish my implants would come out that way.

3 Weeks Post Op
Three weeks post op. The first week was very tough to say the least but every day gets better and better. Very important to listen to your body and not overdo it.
I was very disappointed when I saw me breasts following my one week appointment, they were strangely shaped. I saw my surgeon for the first time at my 3 week post op appointment. My surgeon educated me about the extensive work that had to be done to my breasts during the breast lift (mastopexy). She had to re created the mammary fold. When I looked back at my one week post up until now, there has been improvement which was good to see. I have retained most of the fat which was transferred. I felt 100% better after talking with her and will continue with trust and patience. I am now using silicone scarring dressings and continue wearing compression garments 24/7.
Sleep has been my biggest hurdle I cannot stay comfortable on my back all night. Will continue to try different things or hopefully time will help. The Norco helps me sleep but my surgeon was afraid of addiction. I am a health professional and understand the risk of addiction, however only taking one at night to sleep. The discomfort is manageable with Tylenol or Motrin during the day if needed,

You look great! It looks like a very nice improvement. I’m impressed how much better your back appears after surgery. Hope you continue to retain fat!

10 months later and I feel the implant removal and lift were totally worth it. The fat transfer did maintain the fullness. My breasts have settled into a B 1/2 cup size and are natural. So happy. The lipo was an extra bonus. How did your procedure go??

I really appreciate your photos and details because this is EXACTLY what I want to do, and it's hard to find photos. I've had my silicone implants since 1990. Yep. Long time. They are doing relatively well. A little capsular contracture and some hardening in past 4 years. They are a bit "too high" for my age, I think. I'm 54. I would like to get an explant, a lift, and a fat transfer. I really want to avoid implants again just to feel natural. I was a full A cup originally. I think my current implants are about 250 or 280cc. I'm 190 lbs and 5'6". I am a C-D now, and I really want to be a natural but full B-C with my own fat. Questions- 1. What was your original cup size? 2. How many cc's were transferred? 3. How is it holding up after 1.5 years? THANK YOU very much.
