I had my tummy tuck along with a breast lift/implant on aug 31st. I had it done because I had so much excess skin hanging down and no matter how much weight I lost it just continued to get worse. I literally spent all day long thinking about how I wished my tummy was flat and that my stomach didn't sit on my lap like a puppy. My body image with and without clothes on was very poor and I've been wanting this done for the last 9 years since I had my first son. I had my last child a daughter 2.5 years ago and was ready to get my body back! My before pictures make me want to barf and cry at the same time but the after pictures are what makes it all worth it! The recovery was not fun but not awful.

First of all, you look amazing!! After 3 kids my stomach looks identical to what yours used to! I exercise 4 days a week and am thin everywhere else. I have zero boobs and would also love the lift/ augmentation. I can only hope my results look as great as yours! Thanks for posting!!

Thank you! When are you having your surgery?
January 25, 2017
I don't have anything scheduled yet, I went in for consultation and then out of the blue I had 3 bowel obstructions and 2 surgeries to remove diseased tissue from my small intestine (crohns disease). That left me with scars on top of my already stretched out, stretch marked belly! It's been 2 years since then and now I'm ready to take the plunge! I wanted to make sure my crohns was in remission before I spent lots of money on the tummy tuck being there is always the risk of another surgery. I would hate to wreck a pretty stomach:-) I haven't had one since I was 18 (17 years ago)

How nervous were you going into it with having kids? I also feel guilt for wanting it done, is that normal?

I felt guilt and nervousness with kids. It's very normal! :) I told all 8 of them. They understood, and were excited for me. :) Then I realized there is no need for guilt, you are an unselfish mother who just wants to restore her body. It has been damaged, you've sacrificed it for years. Just like you fix a car, or a house or crooked teeth, It's ok to be able to look in the mirror and like what you see. It's the only body you are given and you can't trade it in. You can only improve what you have. So if you have the money, time, patience, health and a good doctor you can achieve realistic goals. You are beautiful the way you are, but if need help getting rid of the damage I can tell you, your beautiful body can look even better. And insecurities can leave. I try to eat healthy and exercise. I try and be my best and look my best. I do all these to live long and feel joy doing it. :) sorry to answer before byebyetummy. I just am so glad I did it!

What you just wrote: amazing and so true! I'm still in the research mode AND need to lose more weight. I read you ideally need to get below 30% body fat and close to your ideal. Ouf! Uphill climb!

That sounds rough! I actually work for a gastro doctor so I understand all too well about Crohn's disease and how awful and miserable it can be! Are you on a biologic for it? I wasn't nervous surprisingly. I had done so much research on it that I understood exactly what to expect. I was nervous for my touch up though ha and I don't know why! I didn't worry about my kids, they have always known how I felt about my tummy and how much it bothered me. I explained to them what I would be having done and they were excited for me! They helped take care of me afterwards too! I would suggest having an adult be there for you for as long as they can because you will need all the help you can get so you can rest and relax. I also made s ton of crockpot frozen dinners ahead of time as well as breakfast foods and lunch foods that I could freeze so I didn't have to worry about cooking or cleaning. I bought liners for the crockpot so clean up was a cinch and bought paper plates and plastic silverware so no one had to worry about dishes! It seriously made a huge difference. I think it's very normal to feel guilty for wanting it done. But you have to remember you gave up your body to give them life and it's okay to want to feel normal again! My purpose for doing it was just to feel normal in clothes again. I didn't expect to be able to wear a bikini again that is just a bonus now! Please don't feel guilty though! Even us moms deserve to feel good about our bodies! And it's such an amazing feeling walking past the mirror and seeing my flat tummy that I couldn't achieve on my own. It has been a huge weight lifted off my shoulders to not think about my tummy negatively anymore! Hands down the best decision ever!!

Yes that is true! If you weigh more then 15 pounds your ideal weight and then loose it you could be left with excess skin again and need a possible touch up so it's better to be at or very close to your happy weight for the best results! Just make sure it's a realistic weight you can maintain easy!

I am still beyond ecstatic with my results! My belly button is way better then I could have ever imagined it to be and you would have no clue I had a tummy tuck done if my scar was covered. My scar has been fading nicely and I’ll admit I haven’t done any scar therapy in years. I was actively treating it for about 6 months and then stopped. As of the last two days I am starting again to see if I can lighten it some more. However I am completely satisfied with how things look!

I'd say do it if you financially are able to. I am absolutely still amazed with my results and am incredibly happy that I did it! I'd 10/10 do it all over again!
