I was overweight as a child into puberty so due to that and weight fluctuations over the years, I had slightly tuberous breasts with some mild sagging and stretch marks. They looked okay in a push-up bra but as a physique competitor (they deflate to A's at stage weight) and a wife, I felt very self conscious in swimsuits and without a bra. One is also significantly larger than the other. I've always loved boobs, but was never financially able to have the surgery, but now I am!

I went to two consultations with two doctors referred to me by close friends and they both told me basically the same thing and were both great, but the second doctor seemed to understand more of what I wanted (And was much more affordable!). One suggested a donut lift while they other thought a crescent lift would be sufficient, but said it was my decision. I am going with the second doctor, but after doing research on the types of lifts, I have concerns about crescent lifts which I will address with him at my pre-op appointment. Most information I've found said they do minimal lifting and can cause the areola to become elongated which worries me. I do like the idea of less scarring, but still not sure. I want the end result to be ideal and not something that has to be corrected sooner rather than later.

Both doctors said I would be around 450 CC high profile "gummy bear" implants and suggested I go over the muscle as I have sufficient breast tissue already that would conceal it. And as a figure competitor it will prevent flex distortion. I'm so excited and ready to go to my pre-op and then surgery! Can't wait to see the end result!

Hi figuregirl22! My surgery date is 20NOV2015 so just the day after yours. Are you an NPC figure girl, by chance? I have been trying to compete in bikini for the past year (but was unable to due to a deployment to Baltic Sea), and I am looking forward to seeing your recovery as an athlete. I think we can share experiences with our back-to-back dates and "getting back into the groove" of the gym!

I am! I did Bikini at an NPC Show in 2013 and immediately switched to figure as I was the biggest girl on stage muscle wise! haha That is awesome that you are planning to compete and that you're a day after me! Thank you for your service to our country and I'm excited to share my experience and hear about yours!

Anyone with overs have any recovery tips?

figuregirl22
My pre-op is Wednesday and my surgery is next Thursday (10 days!). I'm going over the muscle so does anyone have any tips? I've heard not to raise your arms over your head for a while after surgery. I'm a personal trainer part-time and I sometimes have to move cable attachments and things. I only have a few clients right now so I think I'm going to just ask them to move things for me. I always hear that the recovery time is shorter for overs so I'm hoping by that Sunday I'll be well enough to go see the new Hunger Games movie with my friends! haha #priorities Any other tips?

What doctor did you decide to go with? I am from the Columbia area also. I have seen Dr. Sexton and have an appointment with Dr.Simmonds next month for a consultation.

I used Dr. Steven White in Myrtle Beach and really liked him. His staff is great. I'm on the way to my post-op now so hopefully I can see the final result.

Pre-Op was Today - 1 week til Surgery!

figuregirl22
I went to my pre-op today. It was supposed to be last week but my doctor was out of town and I needed some reassurance on a few things so I rescheduled for today. Boy am I glad I did! He gave me the option of a crescent lift or a periareolar (donut, pursestring, whatever) lift and at my consultation I decided on crescent. But after doing some research, I needed some reassurance from him. He said I was a good candidate for both but the donut would give me the longest lasting effect and higher placement, so that's what we're going with. I also have armpit fat that I've been self-conscious about for years but hadn't brought up to him because I had another doctor tell me the breast aug would make it less noticeable. He actually noticed it today and asked that they give me a quote on having it liposuctioned while I was having my breast aug. Even at competition lean levels it never goes away so I'm going to have it done too! My boob job went from kinda complex to very complex but I'm excited for the results! Going to spend the weekend getting recovery supplies and my house ready! Almost here! EEK!
