I had been getting collagen for my laugh lines for years. I received 1/2 cc and it would last 6 to eight months. I decided to have my fat transferred to the area. The procedure went well and looked good for two years. My sister notice my face was lumpy on one side and asked about it . I asked the doctor about the lump and he said I probably talked too much while the fat was settling. He offered to do it again but I was hesitate because I think if something did not work well the first time it might now work well the second time and I could be worse off than I am. I later noticed that there were dimples near my mouth. Dimples around the mouth or puppet lines is not a genetic trait in my family. ( We might have a lined neck.) The dimples and the puffiness on one side is very depressing. I am not as socially active as I would like to be. I have seen no person with dimples like mine. It is my understanding that the fat will subside. That will ease some of my discomfort. The dimples are on both side; however the lump is on my left side. I know now I was better off with injections that absorb within months. I look a lot older due to the horse look effect.

What very nice comment.!!!!! Thank you. I am thinking that we have to be so careful with what we do to our face. Because we cannot cover it with clothing. Maybe areas that receive a lot of movement are not good candidate areas. I am probably wrong on that thinking but my face is deformed. One doctor who knew the doctor who performed the procedure said that he would not touch me. I am trying to sleep on that side. I never was lovely; however, I do like to present myself as if I care about my appearance. Age is no excuse to stop caring about ourselves.

Hi Jan, thanks so much for your review. Did the lumps begin to form 2 years later? Are they hard or are they soft? If they're soft you can usually have them carefully removed via miro liposuction. If they're hard then you can try and have them taken out by ultrasound therapy, direct excision, or through a facelift incision which would hide the scar . That's typically how hard lumps are treated.

Soren40,
Hi Soren40
Thank you so much for taking the time to reach out to me. Yes, the lumps became quite noticeable two years later. I was so busy I was not noticing them. My sister saw them when I was chewing. They are somewhat soft and sponge like. When I press down they pop back up. One side is very noticeable. On the other side I believe the fat is being re-absorbed back into my body. Pressure possible helps because I sleep on the side that is not bad but I cannot sleep on the side where the problem is due to shoulder pain. In the center of these fat patches is the dimples. I hate them both.ahahahha. I am going to look into the procedures that you mention. Thank you so much. I am glad that I got the nerve to come forward. All of you women (men also )on this website are just beautiful. Thanks again and have a blessed day.

Hi again Jan, if one of the lumps is going away due to pressure you maybe able to apply what's known as the "mashing technique" to the other. That's basically just pressing really hard down on the other lump or massaging it in a circular motion and making sure to apply a lot of pressure when doing so. People usually do this before bed or after they wake up for several minutes. If that works you can avoid surgery altogether. Micro Lipo and ultra sound therapy have their risks as well do all surgeries so try the least invasive first and go from there.

Hi Sharazagib,
Thanks so much for the nice compliment. On the full picture I have my mouth pursed in a way to minimize the damage. And I am slightly turned to the side. I cannot look straight into a camera. I do not smoke and I keep my weight in check 123-125lb. My size and attitude make me look okay. I am concerned about the dimples on the corner of my lips. What I see is fat lump-dimple-fat lump. LOL. Chris gave great info and I am chiming along with that: we need to be very careful. Especially with our FACE. A Breast or a Butt can be covered.! At this point I believe temporary dermal facial fillers such as Juvederm are better however they cost in the long run. Under my liquid make up I use an inexpensive ($13.99) Tinted Zinc Oxide, Titanium Sunblock. It is great. It makes the problem less noticeable. Australian gold botanical mineral sunscreen.50 SPF. It is great and not greasy. It dried matted. I am glad I found it. I have it on in the full face picture but not the close up shot. Thanks again. Jan

Thanks Chris,
Thanks for the compliment. I am hearing you. The procedure looked good for the first few years. Now I am concerned with what will happen with these dimples. I am a mess so I am living just living with it. Temporary measures such as Juverderm are probably the best. Thanks so much. Jan
