At last... RUNNING!

WORTH IT$3,500
Don't know why I've battled to get back to running. A friend of mine who also had under the muscle, similar size did a 15km run 6 weeks post op. It's been just over 2 months and I finally can run. Tried running last week with my fancy shock absorber bra but just didn't support area by cleavage and ended up running 3 kms holding my boobs. Must have looked ridiculous. Bought another bra this week, this one with cups and under wire. Really tight. Popped another gym bra over it and lo and behold it worked. Feels really weird running. Not sore and not off balance, just different and little uncomfortable. Boobs were tight at the end of the day though. Ran again this morning. Glad I can still manage 5 kms. Thought I would have lost a lot of fitness.
Tried swimming for the first time on Friday. Total disaster. Arm can do complete rotation without any pec pain but pulled way too much on scar area.
So that's out for a while longer. Pilates is almost back to normal. Planking is fine.
Boobs are much softer, but again smaller after another 2 kgs weight loss, sigh.
Still great to try on bras and they all fit!!!

Great news! You are back to running - that's awesome girl! I wish I could do it yet (not allowed but want to sooooo bad). I am sure that you will ease into it again in no time - give your body time to heal, it's all good - think: muscle memory!!!!
It feels really weird. Not big enough to be off balance, just uncomfortable. Almost at the stage where I don't feel them anymore. Wish I'd done this in my 30s !
I think you look great. Had you gone bigger, you might have had a harder recovery. Since you're an athletic person, the size you have makes sense and looks beautiful. I find that while this site is wonderfully supportive, if I spend too much time look at other BAs it makes me envious. So I try to limit my time here. I've been thinking nonstop about my boobs and other peoples boobs for the last few weeks. Now that I'm one week out from my BA and am healing well, I feel it's time to focus on other things! Of course, here I am writing a reply ...
Wish I'd done it years ago, but could never justify the expense! Post a before/after pic if u have one. Hope your recovery is going well. Your size is similar to mine
Congratulations on your weight loss, but sorry it came from your boobs. :( You're probably way more sensitive to that area than anyone else, so maybe it's not quite as noticeable as you think. Thanks for sharing your updates regarding working out. I can only imagine how weird it must feel. Brushing my teeth and cooking feels different, so working out is going to feel very weird. :)
It's all worth it. Although everyday I wish I'd gone for 350s :-( In a push up bra I look like a D so all is not lost. I figure if I lose a lot of weight the rest of me will be smaller and boobs will look bigger :-) Happy healing and enjoy your new gym clothes shopping!
Congrats and thank you for taking the time to post your pre and post surgical experiences. Gee I've been so focused on the myriad of other factors associated with a BA, that it had not occurred to me, my 'two' new invited guest, will need to gradually work their way into my lifestyle. I hadn't considered how everyday chores, driving, working out, even the daily casual cardio walk will require some physical and or emotional getting use to. Similar to when we wore the old hard contact lenses that felt so very 'foreign'. Thanks again for documenting your journey. Continue to do well. Jeanie
Hey Jeanie. .. Thanks for your kind words. Isn't this site great? After the initial 2 months of adapting they really do become part of you. 99% of woman say it's the best thing they've ever done. Look forward to seeing your progress. Xoxo
You look fantastic. I just read your review for the first time and I'm sorry you're not thrilled...I think you look awesome! Congrats on getting back to running too! I hope the rest of your recovery is smooth.

Getting back into the Exercise Groove

Well next Tuesday will be 8 weeks post op. Saw PS this Monday about pain in upper right quadrant of pectoral muscle into underneath arm. He still can't find any signs of capsular contracture so I feel better. I'm assuming it's something nervy related to pecs stretching to accommodate implant.
As we are in Ironman off season (winter here in SA) and because of 2 months non activity I have been following a Banting/Paleo eating lifestyle to try and lose 5 kgs ahead of October IM start of the season.
So far I'm 2% body fat down and 2 kgs. But GUESS WHERE I LOST THE WEIGHT! I swear my boobs look noticeably smaller.
I've also started exercising every day in the gym, alternating between the treadmill and spinning bike.
I discovered my new best friend... The elliptical trainer. Minimal impact and quite a workout. Tried running a few steps.... just too weird!!!

Side shot likes really good!
how are you and the new girls holding up? hope your healing is coming along and you are starting to feel less tightness!
Looking good:0)
Love your results so far, you look beautiful! Don't let boob greed get to you, it's an evil feeling! Besides you look great and sexy! I think they are just right for your size. Remember too big they get on the way and they can sag later on if not properly taken care of. BTW that tat is so cute!
Thank you, you are such a honey! I'm even more depressed now though. Am back in training and have lost some weight. Guess where... always the first place to go!
