One Week Update

So far, there haven't been any changes (as expected). The first couple of days I was extremely tender, but wearing a compression tank helped A LOT. I'm actually still wearing a compression shirt because it just feels more comfortable. I'm not quite as sore as I was initially, although there is still a little soreness. I'm definitely feeling pretty swollen, but I took some pictures and they don't look any different than my Before pictures (I'm not going to bother posting because they literally look identical). I've been able to go to the gym, but I've mostly just been doing some light cardio. I'm still super numb around my abdomen and flanks, but the area of numbness is getting smaller. I honestly feel kind of fat right now, and based on everyone else's experiences that's completely normal, but I really can't wait to start seeing some changes. I'll take some photos at my two week mark and post them on here with an update.

So I've always been pretty thin, but as I've...

So I've always been pretty thin, but as I've started getting closer to my 30s my stomach and love handles have gotten more fat, and despite working out 5-6 days a week they just won't seem to go away. After a lot of research and a consultation at Sonterra Laser Med Spa, I decided to go for it. My technician said it would be best to do 2 small applicators on my lower abdomen and 2 small applicators in each of my flanks (6 small applicators in total).

Day of Procedure
We took some before pictures and then the technician went over the process and what to expect. We started on my left abdomen and right back flank, the initial suction is uncomfortable verging on slightly painful, but it's more of a tingling pain. Once the cool starts it does burn a bit, like holding an ice cube on your skin, but after about 5 minutes the entire area becomes numb. It's still slightly uncomfortable for the duration of the 35 minutes, but I watched some movies and was really mostly fine. Then after the time was up, the technician removed the applicator and brought out this little machine for the massage. I'm not going to lie, this was definitely the worst part. The machine submits little electrical pulses/shocks as it massages and lasts for about 3-4 minutes. Once the massage stopped, the area was quite painful, but the pain subsided into numbness pretty quickly and then I was fine.
The next areas we did were the right abdomen with left back flank, and then moved on to doing the front right flank and front left flank separately (4 sessions in total). The whole procedure from start to finish took about 4 hours, and I was actually pretty glad I did it all in one go because it was nice to just get it all over with.
After the procedure I was still very numb but also quite tender. I went and got a prescription for Gabapentin filled, which is supposed to prevent the nerve spasms and shocks. While I felt kind of sore for the rest of the day, I was really mostly fine.
