Mole Removal for Cosmetic Reason - Smithtown, NY

It is important to share my experience and progress with my mole removal on my left cheek of my face. There are not many mole removal reviews in the NY area and I want to share my experience thus far. 2 days ago I had my lifelong mole finally removed. I have always disliked the mole on my face but was always too nervous to have it removed due to scarring. I visited Dr. Dilip Madnani for a consultation... He was honest in saying that I would have a hair line scar but it would be minimal and I could cover it with makeup. His in office associate Dina was beyond sweet and reassuring that Id be happy with the results. After my consultation I procrastinated quite a bit until2 days ago. The procedure was quick, easy and painless. I had a complete mole excision and now have a few stitches which will remain for a week. I have had no pain after the procedure either. So far I am extremely pleased with the procedure and the Drs skill and expertise. I will continue to update this post once the stitches are removed in a week. In the interim I will continue to cleanse and moisturizer the area with aquaphor and cover when needed w/ a bandaid. Some drs say keep the band aid on while others say let it breathe so I'm not to sure what is best - If this is a procedure you are considering please feel free to ask any questions as I'm sure you are nervous as well!!

That's great so did you decide to leave your Band-Aid on or do you leave it off for most of the day

I left it on. Removed my stitches last week. I'm a little worried about scar, it's bigger and puffier than I expected.

Hi there Smithtown N.Y.,
I too had a mole removed from my cheek, it's been about three weeks and I've been following up with laser treatments once a week to help the healing process that hopefully in time smooth out the scar. I was wondering if you were following a similar protocol?
Best of luck to you!
Debbie from San Francisco

I have not done laser as of yet - I am using silicone scar gel during the day under my makeup and I sleep with silicone scar sheets at night. So far so good I'll post pics also!

Thx for sharing. I'm almost 50 and hv always hated the 3 large moles on my face. I'm not a painstaker so I've been squeamish about hvn them removed but the constant negative attention and comments I get hv won the fight to hv them excised. I only pray I'll hv a good experience and positive feedback to gv Just as u hv. Thx again.
