There are a lot of mixed reviews about SDC. I had some minor crowding and a slight overbite. Paying through an orthodontist is ridiculous. They wanted over 6k to setup my aligners. If you read the instructions, it clearly states to make sure you see a dentist first prior to using SDC to make sure your teeth and gums are healthy and there are no issues that would prevent you from using aligners.
The first thing, the aligners will feel weird at first because you're shifting your teeth. This happens when you have braces also or even if you see an orthodontist. Get use to it!! You'll feel fine after the second day and the aligners won't feel as snug. My treatment plan is for 4 months, which is great! My son has gone through the bs of braces for the last 4 years...so, to go from 4 years to 4 months sounds beautiful to me.
The aligners may rub some areas or feel weird and it is ok for you to trim the uncomfortable areas off with small scissors. My last molars didn't make a full mold, so I cut them off because realistically they weren't contributing to the cause. The aligners have been working and I can see a significant change in my smile, my bite, and chewing!! My jaw doesn't click anymore while I chew which has been amazing!! I would eat like an old lady because I couldn't eat fast.
Anyway, SDC is not for everyone. Some people may have worse issues to address. Next, their customer service line, or any contact line for that matter sucks. I tried calling several days just to find out what the payment plan to use CareCredit was for the 1950.00 charge. I will say you have 12 months no interest on CareCredit to pay the balance free of interest. I haven't had any issues and periodically when you start your aligners, they do check in with you to see how you're doing. The app also sets reminders to change your aligner set. You get 2 free whitening pens with your order. You can use Crest 3DWhite Hydrogen Peroxide Boost which is the same thing, so no need to order more. Unless you want to.
So in my experience, I love this as it has saved me a ton of money and it works! My teeth were healthy and had minor issues to fix. I didn't want to spend 6k on minor issues and spend 2 years which is what my orthodontist quoted me for the time using aligners with them. Thus, thebonly reason for it to be 2 years instead of 4 months was because they want you to continue paying then for office visits.
