I was captivated by Smile Direct Club being targeted on Instagram. So many people reviewed, with pictures, that invisible aligners helped get them the smile they always wanted.
I had braces when I was younger, and unfortunately, I lost my retainers and a few of my teeth shifted. It is not very noticeable, but has always bugged me. I recently got engaged and thought it would be great to have the smile I used to have after braces for my wedding.
I booked an appointment at one of their locations and received a 3D scan. They also recorded my session and said I would get my retainers for free. They ASSURED me that the gaps and my crooked teeth would be closed and straightened. I received my 3D treatment plan of what my teeth would look like...and honestly it didn't look too much different. I reached out to their support staff via phone and they assured me that my gaps would be closed and my crooked teeth would be straightened. 100% guarantee satisfaction.
I proceeded based on excellent reviews on Instagram and YouTube. My treatment plan was 6 months. The packaging was excellent and made me feel confident in my decision.
I took pictures every time I switched...and you'll see based on my photos that my end photo looks identical to my beginning photo. After my treatment ended I broke down into tears because I still had gaps and crooked teat and out of 2k that I could have used for my wedding.
To top it off I never received my retainers. I ordered them beginning of June, 2019 and it is now September, 2019. I have reached out to them via phone, email, and direct message in Instagram. All of which reassured me I'd receive my tracking number soon.
I have been sleeping in my last trays for the past 2 months (my treatment ended in July). And they are about shot. So basically the small changes that the aligners did isn't going to matter because my last trays are about to break and I still haven't received my retainers. I don't know what to do. I feel so broken and scammed. I feel like the world's biggest idiot. I just don't understand how they have so many success stories from people with much more need for aligners than I. It doesn't add up or make sense.
Please, please do not go with Smile Direct Club. Go to your dentist and see what they recommend. These internet companies are stealing your money. Don't be a fool like I am. Learn from my mistakes.
