Ready for my Beautiful Smile

UPDATED FROM Jackie Alexandria

For the haters..

WORTH IT$2,000
Apparently a couple of people think my review is not real because of my progress in such a short time and because I do not sleep in my aligners. I’m not recommending to anyone that you do the same. I simply am sharing MY story and progress with SDC. My ortho says everything looks good and that everyone is different and will progress differently, please refrain from leaving negativity on my post. Thank you :)

I was just wondering WHY you can't sleep in youur aligners?
The reason I ask is that perhaps your dentist or orthodontist can come up with a solution that would make sleeping in your aligners more acceptable to you. For instance, before I had my teeth straightened I was fitted with a "SomnoDent" appliance as an alternative to a CPAP. I asked my orthodontist if I could sleep with it instead of my aligners, but it turns out it wouldn't have fit after awhile (it's a much more rigid plastic than even a retainer) and for 8 hrs a night would have held my teeth in the crooked position I was paying $$$$ to correct. I may get a new one made after I've been wearing a retainer for a couple of years and my straightened teeth have stabilized in the bone.

I (and most people here) find that wearing aligners & retainers during sleep is MUCH easier and less of a pain-in-the-you-know-what than wearing them during the day and removing them to eat & brush and then putting them back and watching the clock while they're out.
Great progress. How far are you now?

Month 4

I understand everyone’s concern about my not sleeping in my aligners but I’m on month 4 and have had zero issues and great progress. My orthodontist says everything looks great.

How can you be on month 4 and you started in June? I actually started at the same time and I'm on month 3.
I started March 2
Started may 2 ... not March.
Jesus I really think you need to get a life or a hobby instead of worrying about my teeth lol.. not trying to be ugly but you are definitely acting very rude and overly concerned about my teeth. I can't sleep in them because it's not comfortable and I take them out in my sleep so I just stopped wearing them. I thought I said that in my original post but that may have been on another forum. Anyway if my ortho is pleased with my treatment and he's not concerned, neither should you.
I honestly do not care. Please stop commenting on my post if you're going to act crazy like this.

3 week difference

Only 3 weeks in and my bottom teeth have gotten straighter. Happy with the progress so far especially since I’m not able to sleep with them in like you’re supposed to.

You have to sleep with them in it's not optional. Your teeth adjust by "tracking" it may not be a problem at first but once you get further in your treatment your teeth will not have moved and stayed in the new position as they're supposed to. You need to wear them all the time at least 22 hours a day. I had trouble at first too. They were tearing up my gums. I tried wax and it didn't work. I ended up using Burt's Bee's lip balm rubbed along the edges and it helped a lot. Also filing down any sharp spots. I understand your pain but you have to wear them at night. You're paying $2k for this treatment and wearing them for the required time each day will determine success or failure.
See my update .. I uploaded new photos. I still can't sleep in them unfortunately but my results are still tracking on schedule.
Why can’t you sleep with them in? If you take ibuprofen, Tylenol or CBD at bedtime, that eases the pain dramatically. If the edges irritate or even ulcerate your palate, gums or tongue, you can try gently and gradually filing those sharp edges with a nail file (preferably crystal/glass or finer grit of emery) until they stop cutting you. If you don’t wear them 22 hrs a day (occasionally, 20 for special occasion meals), your teeth will revert to their original positions. They are attached to your jawbones by periodontal ligaments, which have “memories” like an elephant. (That’s why a retainer is necessary for the rest of your life). One of the benefits of having an orthodontist (or even experienced dentist) do your aligner treatments is the ability to come in to address problems and concerns in person, hands-on.
Agreed! I take 1 Tylenol before I put on a new set and go to bed. I wake up pain free. It does get easier after the first month. The teeth get used to moving and the pain subsides with a new set.
