This Is How It’s Done

3.5 years after my disfiguring and substandard facelift from Dr. Judge, I did a deep dive into finding a competent, DOUBLE BOARD CERTIFIED FACIAL PLASTIC SURGEON in my hometown. I had full revision surgery, and 1 week post op I look and feel 100% improved. I simply CANNOT get over the night and day experience I’ve had going through this odyssey.
I have some important tips for anyone considering a facelift or any other procedure, for that matter:
1. Go to a surgeon actually certified, or better yet, double certified in the actual procedure you wish to have performed. When you see a surgeon offering a long laundry list of every procedure under the sun, with simply a general surgeon certification, AVOID at all costs!!
2. Check out all photos and reviews of the surgeon for the specific procedure you’re having done.
3. Meet with the surgeon in person. Check out their office and infrastructure. Do they have staff nurses? This is important as nurses work closely with the surgeon and attend surgery with them. Do they have a surgery suite within their office?
4. Make sure there is a clear post op plan, so you know what to expect and make sure the doctor addresses any post op concerns you have with a clear, concise plan.
If I had followed any one of these tips, Dr. Judge would not even have made my long list of surgeons to talk to. I would have appreciated more honesty from her, I.e., “sorry I am not able, nor do I have the essential experience to perform this surgery on you” would have sufficed! Instead, I’ve suffered through 3.5 years of being depressed and upset with myself for getting surgery in the first place.
One final note about this—The highly qualified, Double Board Certified surgeon I selected for my revision surgery cost the SAME EXACT amount of money as I was charged by Dr. Judge for the privilege of allowing her to disfigure my face.

Bad Outcome
ChillypillyDecember 30, 2022
After a year and a half of “waiting for things to settle” I have come to terms with the substandard outcome of my face/neck lift, fat grafting and upper/lower blepharoplasty. My face is now noticeably asymmetrical with one full cheek and one hollow cheek, malar bags (festoons) under both eyes and a saggy skinned “cobra” neck. I have consulted with two local facial plastic surgeons who’ve told me there’s not much they can do short of me undergoing another full procedure. I have had little to no follow up from Dr. Judge, unless initiated by me. I actually look older than I did prior to this surgery. Buyer beware and do your research—this was definitely a huge not worth it for me and has had deep emotional consequences.

Who is Dr. Judge and where is he? Did he graft over your eyes as well? I see how it dragged your lower face so that now there is skin hanging on the neck where there wasn't before. I have that now as well. Fat grafting is sold as a safe and natural alternative to other fillers, but it is completely unreliable and doctors really don't study an individual's face. They use a one-size-fits-all approach. Dr. Chesnut in Spokane was supposed to do all sorts of corrective lasers on me and a tiny bit of fat transfer. Instead, I have distorting fat in all the weirdest places.
