From my first consultation, I knew Dr. Truong would be an outstanding doctor. This was my first experience with cosmetic procedures, and was extremely pleased with how kind and informative Dr. Truong, Monika, and the rest of his staff has been throughout this process. I am now 3 months post-op and I could not be more happy with my 360 Smart Lipo results. His skills gave me natural-looking curves and sculpted me to look my best! Dr.Truong is honest and has great bedside manner and Monika has made herself available with any questions I've had along the way!

I'm considering going to to Dr. Truong for consultation on SmartLipo for my abdomen, flanks and back. Your results look great. Can you talk more about the recovery time?

For me, I have a very low pain tolerance, so I was bed ridden for the first 2 days because of the back and abdomen feeling very tight it was hard for me to sit up without help (I also have Zero core muscles too, lol). I had the procedure on a Friday, and returned to class on Monday. As long as I was sitting I was comfortable! Sleeping at night was difficult because I am a side or stomach sleeper so I had to sleep propped up (so I could sit up independently) for about 2 weeks. I was able to go back to my normal lifestyle after 2 weeks, it might take less for you because I was just being very cautious - do what feels right for your body. That’s the initial recovery. Now, it will take 6 months for a full recovery mainly swelling, and at 3 months I still have minor swelling (no pain, just puffiness) but even halfway through I am so pleased with my results!! You might have a burning right sensation for a week or so, it feels like the skin is sticking to your bones...and essentially that’s what’s happening because it’s tightening up “loose areas”. I highly recommend Dr Truong he has been so professional and informative about this process

Thanks so much for sharing. I have a low tolerance for pain too. I had breast surgery and lipo on my abdomen done two years ago. I tolerated the pain and recovery well, and was moving a bit more normally after two weeks. I've been wanting to get my flanks and back done and was told before that the recovery time is less than regular lipo. Sounds like it might end being about the same. Again, thanks for sharing. You look great!

Thanks for sharing, I'm seeing Dr T for lipo360. Are you still happy with your results? What facility did you have surgery at? How was the facility and how long did the surgery take?

I still SO happy with my results! Dr Truong’s work has continued to boost my self confidence and I no longer feel like I need to hide under baggy clothes ❤️ For any consultations and post ops I visit his Chicago location, but the actual procedure was done in Evanston (building name was called like XSculpt or something) . The facility was small and very homey feeling actually! Quiet, great decor and seating for people to wait in, candles lit - definitely had a relaxing ambience. I was in the office for about 4 hours - arrived more than 30 minutes early for prep and what-not, then my actual procure was about 1.5 hours, and then an hour in recovery room to let my grogginess wear off. They removed basically 4 liters off fat off of me (wowzers!) and although my recovery was a bit more painful than I expected I would do it again in a heartbeat. Extremely pleased with my results and recovery process, Dr Truong is so talented!

Thank you so much for your response! I'm excited and nervous. I'm having it done in November. Trying to work out time from work with the holiday. How long was your downtime? Did you get put to sleep? I'm sorry I have so many questions, just my nerves.

Oh don't apologize, I'm glad my experience can help make sure yours goes smoothly!! I was put to sleep (I don't get side effects from anesthesia so this was a no-brainer for me!), I started laying on my stomach so they did my backside first then they lower your anesthesia a little bit to flip you over to do your stomach lipo (I think so its not as much dead weight to flip over lol) and I have zero recollection of that - they'll tell you all about that when you're getting your IV hooked up!
I do have a low pain tolerance, so my downtime was a little bit longer than average simply because I chose to rest more. Right after the procedure I felt no pain thanks to the meds, but after about 3 hours I was definitely uncomfortable. for the first few days it was basically impossible for me to sit up on my own because of the incision on my back were very tender, so I would recommend have a bf/gf or close friend/family help you for the first few days if you have a low pain tolerance. I had it done on a Friday, so that weekend was pretty rough because of the pain. I found it hard to stand up straight because I was feeling very tight (totally normal feeling to have) so then my back hurt because I was walking hunched. They do say you can return to work/school several days later, and I was in fact able to go to class that Monday. After that week the pain subsided and I only had some discomfort when sleeping because I am a side-sleeper as was forced to sleep elevated on my back so I could sit up independently. By the end of two weeks I was back to normal with only a mild tightness which i describe as 'it feels like my skin is sticking to my bones' - not painful, just a bizarre sensation.
And thank you! It took me awhile to find reviews with somebody with a similar body type, so I'm so happy I can help you out!!
