Over the past year I had put on over 16 lbs due to medications and stress. My final weight before surgery was 162. I’m 5’5 and have never been heavier than 125 (except when I was pregnant in 2012). I had my procedure 3/12/2020 and I’m really happy with my results. The pain during the procedure was minimal. I felt a slight pinch/burn every now and then but it was tolerable. Dr. Hennessy and his staff are amazing. Super sweet and helpful. The moment I got home I changed my padding since I had completely soaked through the ones provided on the car ride home. I packed a shower liner and used it in the car and on my bed so I wouldn’t stain anything. While changing my padding I became very hot, Clammy, lightheaded, and pale. I was aware that this could be a side effect due to the rapid compression release but boy did it suck. While changing pads I recommend standing in the shower. Day 2- The recovery pain is about a 5 out of 10. Im able to function about 85% As long as I take the pain medication provided. I woke up in the middle of the night the first night due to pain but I just took some pain meds and was good to go. I have stopped leaking and still don’t have much bruising. I’m sure some more bruising may occur since its just one day after surgery. I’ve been nauseous a few times but other than that things have been going good. I’m still swollen but excited with my results so far.

Day 4 update: I had my first lymphatic massage. I was nervous but it didn’t feel too bad. I have another one scheduled in a few days. My swelling has decreased in some areas but has increased in others such as my lower abdomen. My soreness is about a 6/10 today but that’s probably because I’m taking the pain medication less often. I’ll update pics when I hit my 1 week mark.

I have most swelling in my lower abdomen as well. It's been 2 weeks to the day since my procedure with Dr Hennessy and things are good. I did my first real (hard Bootcamp type) workout this morning. I still feel good! Good luck with your results!!

Thank you!!!
Its been a week from my surgery. I had another ( much needed ) lymphatic massage. These past few days I’ve been really swollen And the pain and soreness is still very present. I dread putting the compression garment back on.
Hopefully the pain is gone enough next week for me to work out.
Kudos to you!!

• Swelling has went down a lot.
• Still numb in certain areas.
• My flanks feel really tight.
• Incisions are practically invisible.
• The binder tends to roll and cause indents but I only have a few more days left.

Your results are amazing and only 18 days post op..WOW! I’m looking to consult with two surgeons once these COVID19 restrictions are lifted and hope to get results you have! I am 5’5 160 pounds and was starting to think I’d have to loose more weight to get the results I was looking for but seeing your results I’m feeling more optimistic. Thanks for sharing!

• I still have minor swelling and a few lumps. (Can’t wait for everything to open back up so I can continue with my lymphatic massages).
• My skin feels a bit tight at times.
• I’m able to exercise without any discomfort.

I am on medication for vestibular migraines. I was considering this since I have gained 20 more pounds since being on the meds (took 2 years to gain worried it will just keep going up!) I don't even eat alot and I am.active. I don't eat fried food or a ton of carbs. Seeing your post makes me consider trying this procedure especially if I continue with the meds working out won't work.anyway. Ugh!

You look amazing. Do the lumps disappear and is the discoloration also temporary?

Hi there - I had mine done on July 30th and this was very helpful in that my 'status' in healing is in line with yours! Will be glad when all the hardness is gone and bumps go away!!! I still have some bruising too.
