Concerned.

As the swelling goes down and the scar tissue fades I am growing very concerned about the extremely uneven and lumpy results of my stomache. I will definitely have to discuss my options with the doctor. It appears that one area may have been oversuctioned while the area around my belly button remains full. Also, one flank is bigger then the other. Right now, I am not happy. I consider myself an optimistic person so I want to give the doctor an opportunity to correct this before making any final decisions on whether this was a terrible mistake. Prior to my procedure, I definitely addressed my concerns about lumpy results on my stomache and he assured me that he would not be aggressive and he could achieve improvement. While I am smaller in the midsection I can't say I feel that these results can be called n improvement. I really hope he can fix.

Just wanted to share measurements as I did take measurements before and I just took now. Looks like I have a circumferential drop of 2 inches around the waist!!

So my before measurements with a tape:
Under bust is 30",
Smallest part of waist 28",
Around belly button 34"
Around hip sitting right above buttline is 36"
Around butt is 37"

Today:
Under bust is 28"
Smallest part of waist is 26.5"
Around belly button is 32"
Last two measurements are the same.

So overall, just more proportioned in the midsection.

So I am almost 3 weeks post op. Most of the soreness and tenderness is gone and I only have some numbness on my hips. The swelling has reduced more and the lumps seem to be looking better too. I am continuing to take Arnica and bromelain orally and rubbing Arnica on my stomach 3 times a day. I had two more post surgical massages and the therapist insisted that the lumps will go away, it will just take time. She said to keep massaging so they don't get hard. I have been massaging for about 30 minutes each night (after hubs falls asleep) following by a few minutes of heat from a heating pad.
So a few ppl have asked me what happened when my husband got back! Oh boy! What a story to tell! Long story short, he didn't find out. How can that be possible you're probably thinking. So I began practicing wearing the compression garment well before the surgery and before his trip and he thought I started doing it to look skinny. So when he saw me in it after he came back it was no suprise. His flight was 26 hours and he arrived extremely tired and jetlagged so he'd been sleeping all day and awake at 4 am when I was asleep. The first night he was back he did wake me up at 4 am but thankfully the room was pitch black. He felt the small lumps from my incision on my back and butt, but I told him that they were from the pressure of the compression garment against my bra hook and underwear and he seemed to buy that. The incisions in the front he couldn't see or feel as they blend in with my c section scar. The lumps on my stomache, miraculously he didn't brush over with his hands. Anyway, I was just so tense and really couldn't make the most of the night. Poor guy. I felt so bad. He got a half assed welcome home from me. I told him was tired and felt like I was coming down with something bad. The next few days he got really sick with an awful awful case of diarrhea. Nothing keeps a man away like diarrhea. Then today somehow we got into a fight about taxes...haha. Well it's all good because the series of events all are working at keeping his bodily needs at bay. In a few days I should get my period and that should buy some more time. But the truth is my husband is an apple pie guy and he wouldn't recognize liposuction unless it was blatantly obvious or I actually told him. And because of how well I'm healing it really was not obvious at all. Plus he knows how hard I'm been working out to loose weight (35lb down so far!) so any changes he would just attribute to diet/exercise.
Anyway, enough about that, back to the Lipo. So things are looking better. My proportions are much more "rationale". Although as i mentioned in a prior post, one flank still looks bigger than the other. I have one more post Lipo massage and then I'm on my own.
I've got to say, the cost of massages add up...6 massages including 2 cavitations total about $1000. Plus when you add the creams, and pills and compression garments... another $200. The procedure itself was $6,050. So total cost thus far is $7250. The doctor told me I can just massage myself, but frankly there's no way I could have healed as well if I didn't go to the pros.
I did have my two week post appointment last Friday. I saw the doc for about 5 minutes. He checked my lumps and told me it was scar tissue and it would go away with time. There really wasn't much else to say as I knew the answers to any of my concerns would simply be "it's swelling, it's still very early, etc". So I just made my two month post op appointment and decides to just wait and see. I did email a few times asking if someone can send my pre op photos but that request has gone ignored sadly. I deleted all my pre op photos before my husband got back, and would have liked to see what I used to look like to compare. I guess I will find out in a few months when I go to the office.
The doctor does say after 2 weeks you can switch from wearing your garment from 24 hrs to 12 hours however ive opted to continue with 24 hours until i just cant anymore.
As for my gym routine, I was able to go 4 times this week. I did two spinning classes and two sculpting classes so things are getting back to normal.
That's all for now. I think my next post probably will not be for a while until there is more progress or changes worth posting about.
Anyway, thanks for reading my long long posts!!
