Here are some post op pics (6 days after) and one pre op of my back. I just hope that my results are what I envisioned. I’m still very swollen and kind of concerned that my completion will not return.

I was instructed to wear my garment and not take a bath until my first post op appointment which was four days after my surgery. Once I remove the garment and padding I have a lot of, what I believe to be, scabbing and I believe it was from the friction of the foam pads. The doctor that did my postop was not my surgeon and I’m not sure if she notify the doctor of the scabby so I pretty much treated myself at home with Neosporin rubbed it on those scarf and replace my garment. I was also instructed not to do any lymphatic massages until after my next follow up appointment which is four weeks away.

The Best You Now

Not the best experience for my first round. Dr. Bradley is very sarcastic, which rubbed me the wrong way. I didn’t meet him at my consultation nor did he do my post op appointment. The first time I met him was the day of my surgery. He told me the day of of my surgery, that he my not be able to remove all of the fat from my back and stomach the first go round, which no one told me three months before. This is why I feel that you should have a consultation and post op with the surgeon that you want to preform your procedure. He state that I may have to come back for a mini tummy tuck (skin removal) instead of suggesting to remove the rest of my bottom belly area with lipo (which is what I paid for). He did mention that if I came back to finish i will may need to pay an additional facility fee. At my pre op appointment, the lady (medical/surgical assistant) took my blood pressure 3 times in the wrong place and kept getting errors and [RS bleep] up my blood work three months prior at my first consultation. Another employee, Vera (little island lady) from the operating room was rude on my last phone call to them. I asked her a simple question (which was to verify the phone number that a gave her and she she said “I’m a grown lady” as if she was insulted by me asking her to repeat it. once they get you out the door they DONT CARE. One the positive side the facility is clean, Dr. Lisa is nice, Yenni is nice, Maria is nice but i don’t think that they are well trained or knowledgeable. The other black lady Dr., (I can’t remember her name), is also nice. They only care about those social media celebrities whose bodies that they have already perfected. I did briefly meet with Dr. Ramirez whom I believe is a little more sensible, gentle and caring. I should have gone with him. I’m honestly already considering round 2 somewhere else.

Dr Bradley responding to the above commentary.
I feel his individual's above review is upset with me for telling her the truth about what her true surgical needs were, when in fact the issues are with the facility, Best U Now. I become collateral damage by association. I did not see anywhere in the above criticism that the treated areas were not sufficiently or properly treated, or there was a bad outcome from surgery. I do not practice medicine or perform surgery in a substandard , or careless fashion, ever. This poor review associated with my name is not about a poor surgical outcome, but is an indictment of Best U Now, how poorly it is run, and how the corporate culture , vis-a-vis, the owner, Dorian Wilkerson,PhD, operates this facility, routinely placing money over patient satisfaction (as an aside: "Dr" Wilkerson is a PhD, NOT an MD, which he likes to misrepresent to the public).
I left Best U Now after 2 years as his un reimbursed medical director due to the multiple failings in patient selection, patient safety & patient care, despite me constantly making recommendations for positive change. The above experience is not unique to this individual at Best U Now, unfortunately, but I have been implicated in this individual's unhappy experience. This reviewer's experience at Best U Now is not unique or uncommon by any means. While I worked at Best U Now, my only recourse in situations like this one was to refuse to perform surgery after evaluating the patient, which I did on a routine basis. In retrospect, it is apparent to me that I should have cancelled surgery because this individual's expectations obviously could not be met with a single stage liposuction procedure for the reasons outlined by the reviewer.
Let me set the record straight:
It is absolutely true and accurate that this individual was never seen by me, evaluated by me in any way whatsoever before I saw her immediately prior to surgery. This individual's experience would have been vastly different if I had and I will explain.
First , Best U Now is not my practice. I do not run this practice, I had absolutely no say in this practice's governance, or in the hiring, firing, or scheduling of personnel. Believe me, I would have fired the entire front desk and then some, if it was up to me. Best U Now is a high volume, discount cosmetic surgery practice, one of many in south Florida. This is the practice model of places like this. Surgeons, including myself, do not routinely consult with the patient prior to surgery, but I have done so in every single instance the patient requested to see me prior to their surgery. Usually the patient is screened, worked up pre operatively, and scheduled for surgery without the operating surgeon being involved other than presumably having each surgeon's surgical selection criterion met. I worked with "pre-operative coordinators" at Best U Now so that my selection parameters are met , such as reviewing pre op patient photos, obtaining patient BMI , and many other patient safety parameters which "should" be followed before the patient is scheduled for surgery or seen by the surgeon before surgery. In my experience, this was not the case far too many times at Best U Now. It appears this individual was one of those times What this individual mistook of me being "very sarcastic" was me being VERY frustrated at NOT having my selection criterion followed once again.
From this individual comments, I can determine that my surgical selection criterion was ignored by whoever scheduled the surgery at Best U Now in a couple ways.
BMI criterion was was not followed for my selection parameters. If I tell a patient I "may not be able to remove all the fat from the back and stomach the first go around", then the patient had too high of a BMI for a single stage liposuction procedure to be performed in compliance with Florida state law or safely. , and my BMI criterion was not followed. Two facts which patients should understand, but are not told by those who schedule their surgery is that 1. the state of Florida has a law which prohibits more than 4,000cc of fat removal in a single setting, and 2. Best U Now routinely utilized "local anesthesia with conscious sedation". If a patient is quite large, then the amount of local anesthesia required to make the procedure tolerable may be so high as to cause the deadly scenario of lidocaine toxicity. Lidocaine toxicity kill patients far too many times in south Florida by those who ignore this safety concern. Obviously I thought this individual was going to markedly exceed this law and I did not want to compromise patient safety, otherwise I would not have told this individual what was written in the review about not being able to get all the fat in one go around.. Likewise, if I discuss "mini tuck(skin removal) then my criterion was not followed regarding the quality or amount of abdominal skin. Had I been allowed to see a photo of this individual three months before scheduled surgery, I would have made the same recommendations as stated and I would not have allowed this individual to be scheduled with me for a single stage liposuction procedure. The comments "which no one told me three months before" and "once they get you out the door they don't care", are valid in my experience at this facility, and one of the many reasons I parted ways with Best U Now. Therein lies the problem: a practice philosophy which keeps me (any surgeon) out of the surgical decision making loop despite strict instructions to the staff to the contrary is looking for problems , and I am held accountable for these short comings of a facility of which I have no control.
I have apologized to patients for similar disappointing experiences from facilities in which I have (briefly) worked in the past when I have learned of their less than optimal experiences or outcomes.. This is no different. I am sorry to hear of such a bad experience, but going forward, do not look for the cheapest cosmetic surgical option because these "discount cosmetic surgery" places are all the same. You are paying and have an agreement with a facility, not the individual surgeon. If you as a potential patient are not GUARRENTEED of meeting with your surgeon at least the day before your surgery, and you are not GUARRENTEED your surgeon will see you after surgery, think twice about where you will trust your safety and body. All patient's have to take responsibility for their decisions regarding where they will schedule their procedure. Private surgical practices are run and operated by the respective surgeon, and that makes all the difference.
