Revisional Surgery (Band to Sleeve) 28yr old mother

Hi Realselfers,
I am a 28 year old mother of 2 young children under the age of 5 and I have been overweight for 20 of the 28 years of my life. In 2010 I reached my highest weight of 106kg (234lbs) and decided to get the lap-band following a decade of unsuccessful weight loss attempts through diets, exercise and prescription weight loss medications. I was initially quite pleased with the results of the lap-band. Dropping down to 92kg (203lbs) within a year. However, I failed to lose more/maintain the weight loss and had constant issues with blockage of food in the band and regurgitation. I ultimately ended up adjusting my diet to soft carbohydrates to avoid blockages and regained the weight I had lost. I had the band removed in January 2017 weighing in again at 106kg (234lbs). I have gained 3.5kgs since the band removed in January and currently weigh the heaviest I have ever been at 109.5kg (242lbs). I feel down sometimes about the increase in my weight but overall I'm so relieved to no longer experience food blockages or issues from the band.

I'm scheduled to be sleeved on the 26th April 2017. I feel nervous, anxious, excited and most of all HOPEFUL that this surgery will be the support I need to lead a healthier and more active life. I look forward sharing my experiences and VSG journey with you.
