Almost 6 months out

Hey guys!!!
I would apologize for the long hiatus but I dont think you wanted to hear my thoughts prior to this lol. My surgery is still successful in that I have had no complications whatsoever. Unfortunately I wish they could've operated on my brain as well, that organ just won't get with the program. I was not hungry for the first 2 months but it seemed like the minute I was back on "regular food", my regular cravings came back. I've struggled not to fall back into old ways which is hard as I'm a SLOW loser on the scale. I've gone from 256lbs at pre-op to 202lbs as of a couple of days ago. I'm happy with the changes to my body but not so much with the weight loss number. I know I wasn't the heaviest at the start of this journey but did expect to reach ONEDERLAND prior to the six month point. Honestly if my progress continues then I probably will reach my one year goal of 150lbs, but it's going to take the full year as I have NEVER dropped a massive amount of weight. I'm back in the gym and try to go at least 3x a week. I still drink a protein shake for breakfast and have cut my carbs down to less than 50 grams per day. I need to go to the store and buy some new vitamins as I've slacked on those as well. I went to buy a new bra the other day from soma and was sized in a 40DD, down from 42DDD so I'm apparently going to keep big boobs. I'm down to a size 14 from a size 20. I can wear a size M scrub for work but it's still a little too tight for my liking. Still struggling with seeing changes in the mirror and I'm comparing myself to others journeys so I've taken a break from social media outlets such as facebook because I'm on a lot of bariatric groups on there. Hopefully I can update more often!!!

Day of treatment

On the loser's bench!!!

Surgery was a success. Outside of when I first woke up, I haven't felt any outstanding pain. The nurses are really on top of medicating me. I'm walking almost every hour and using my incentive spirometer. The doctor said I can start the lovenox shots tomorrow. I brought these on my own. I had my PCP prescribe them since I would be on a plane for 4.5 hours on the way home. Tomorrow is my barium swallow test so I have not had anything by mouth not even ice chops. It's fine, I dont feel any hunger or thirst at this time. I'll keep you all updated

Woohoo! So exciting, this is day 1 of your new life!
I’m following your voyage, I am looking at very soon, just haven’t narrowed down place or doctor yet. Please give a review of the hospital cleanliness and doctor, etc.

I'm so glad to hear surgery was a success! I look forward to following your journey, good luck!

For some reason the photos did not attach to the previous update. Hopefully they will this time. I'm doing this from my phone so I dont know if that's the reason for the issues! I'm just typing to get the two hundred characters required, enjoy the pics and leave questions/comments below!
