SkinCeuticals Glycolic 10 Renew Overnight
SkinCeuticals Glycolic 10 Renew Overnight
Initial application - it’s liquidy and in a tube, but it goes on thick and is difficult to spread around. There was no way I was going to be able to spread a pea sized amount all over my face and neck per the instructions. I had to use four pea sized amounts to get everywhere - forehead, each cheek, neck. I may try using a facial mist first to get it to spread around better next time.
It says you’re supposed to start out every other night then increase to nightly after a week. I felt no stinging when I applied it, but I was already using a 10% glycolic acid product before this. No particular smell, and I am extremely sensitive to smells and can get migraines from something that is heavily perfumed. So I definitely appreciate that.
Skin condition before - I was on vacation last week with two 10 hours flights, so my skin is breaking out more than normal around my nose and chin. My skin type is typically normal but breakout prone, and now it gets dry in the winter. It’s also more sensitive than it used to be. I have been getting a recurring scaly patch on my lips from another glycolic product I had been using (not using it on my lips, but just from whatever little bit would migrate down after application) so I’ll be on the lookout for that with the product. I also have some fine lines on my forehead.
I’m hoping this will clear up the breakouts around my nose and chin. I’d also like to see my skin look brighter and more glowy, Iike when you get enough sleep. Not really expecting much for the lines on my neck, but if it could minimize those, that would be a nice bonus.

Two week update
During the first week of use I developed some visible flaking on my forehead. I also got a few small pimples around my nose and hairline.
During the second week I got pretty dry around my mouth to where my smile lines randomly started burning in a meeting I was in on Monday. I also noticed this morning that I have rash on both cheeks.
I wasn’t able to get pictures of any of that using my phone camera. I’d say it’s noticeable to me but not to others.
I continue to not really like the product texture. I tried misting my face first thinking that would help it spread more easily, but that almost makes it worse. On a dry face it is hard to spread and just sticks wherever it makes first contact with your skin. On a damp face it slides around and you feel like it’s not depositing anything. I feel like you have to use a lot to get it all over your face.
I don’t know, I guess we’ll see.

30 day update
I also don’t feel like it’s really doing anything special, especially considering I have other glycolic products that do the same thing for a quarter of the price.
I did get the scaly patch on my lip that I was watching out for, but it went away quickly and hasn’t come back since I’ve been more careful about keeping it away from my lips. So I guess this would maybe be good for someone who has trouble using glycolic acid products.
I’m sad because I do like some other Skinceuticals products and was excited to try this one. I’ll do one more review and post my after pictures at the end.
